I think age is the main thing with DL. We just paid £17m for Paulinho although that was a release clause. Benteke is a realistic target if no one else is seriously interested and we can pay up, if we can't then I really can't see us looking much further than Remy. If it is us that have triggered the request, I would not be surprised one bit to see DL try to use it to his advantage and drag it on and on. In that case we'd either get gazumped or piss Villa off.

Surprised people want Benteke. He has all the finesse of Darren Bent and he scored goals everywhere too. If we sign him people will bemoan everything about his all round game

That's a bit harsh, Darren Bent's link up play and holding up of the ball was his weakest attributes, Benteke however showed some great link up play and bullied defenders when it came to holding up the ball. Hernandez IMO is class but can't see that one happening

If we are the ones in for benteke then you can guarantee that it will drag like a fucking Monday in work. Fucking deadline day special.

I wouldn't pay over £16m for him. Very risky to pay big money for a player that did well in his debut season. A lot of players have done this down the years.

I know people like to poo poo player swap deals but I think with villa it could work.

10m + deadwood = benteke

couldn't even give Villa the team who found and gave him a shot at the big time a year or 2 more. what an ass, he is only 22 and has time on his side. If we signed him (Im not impressed like the majority of u) he'd only do the same once a bigger or wealthier club came sniffing

Seems like there is a big difference of opinion on Benteke.

I think he has it all and would be a match made in heaven with bale providing service to him.

If we are that interested in him and are willing to put in an offer of around say £22million i think he would love to join us.

Seing also that he has "visited" us too. Im sure he was impressed aswell. Add verts and dembele to the mix too im sure they have sold him the tottenham project to perfection.

As you can see i am a benteke fan lol
