The whole Bale thing fucks me off so much. I love the kid so much but what I want is for him to stay at Spurs his whole carrier and become our Giggs, Gerard etc.... This is not going to happen. It seems he moves ether now or next summer, so it might as well be now. We are not going to get more money for him next summer, we are not in the CL and we are not going to challenge for the tittle (not unless we go spend another 40/50 mil, which is not going to happen) now that we have brought in 3 new players we might as well continue and bring in Lamela or who ever will replace him so everyone can adjust together and mould together. We need to build for the future and the only way we can do that is with players who want to be a part of this club long term... If Bale does then I will be over the moon excited more so then any other transfer we will ever make but absolutely nothing in the last few years has made me think he sees Spurs as his long term future. If we are not his future, Bale should not be ours (this hurts so much to think but it's how it is)

I just hope Bale knows what he is getting into at Real Madrid. He will be a World Record transfer signing and fans will have expectations for him to outperform Ronaldo as well as Barcelona's new boy Neymar. Not to mention he is a Welsh lad who doesn't speak the language. Things could get ugly fast if he does not hit the gates running and have a monster first year. I'm talking 30 plus goals. For me, I'm just not sure he is up for it quite yet.

If that's the case, then you might as well write next season off, because by the time that number of players have gelled, added to the 3 we've already brought, then at least half the season will be over.

You raise a good point, really. Monaco aren't the best example as the players that are 'leftovers' from last year aren't as talented as ours, but when you look at how Falcao, James and Moutinho are getting on, you can tell they are going to take some time before they start to click. And, all three of those players are better than the ones we brought in at their respective positions.

Now, obviously having a better squad in general will help things (Monaco's First XI on the whole won't compare to ours when it's all said and done), but it's going to be a feeling-out process. We're fortunate in that we have a couple of matches to start the season that aren't exactly scary but should provide a good test nonetheless. It'll be interesting to see how we look going into the huge fixture against Arsenal.

At least Paulinho and Chadli should get two preseason matches under their belts and Soldado realistically will get one. I'm less concerned about Soldado with his experience not only in La Liga but also in Champions League. He knows exactly what to expect. But, Paulinho and Chadli are facing a big hike in the level of talent they are up against so even though they aren't playing against those type of players in preseason (Monaco/Espanyol) at least they will have a nice, gradual bump in level of competition leading up to Arsenal. Quite frankly, it's a perfect progression with Monaco, Espanyol, Palace, Swansea and then Arsenal. It might actually work out well in the end.

Completely appreciate the info, but jj seems to be suggesting that false info is being leaked out the club, possibly so we can get replacements in at non-inflated prices. Could there potentially be a chance you have been fed some of this info?

I thought JJ was only saying the he had heard that Bale was off, didn't think he was suggesting anything else.

Although it is past my bed time so I might have missed something.

So RM are apparently going to try to palm us off with players they were gonna sell, but soon as we supposedly ask for Morata its a no? This is such a good partnership.
Yeah, and the fact they want him means we should not take no for an answer. Morata or no deal. See how they like losing something precious.

With respect Stoof, that is just not true. He wasn't at the hub, he was in the way. And he shoots mostly because he lacks the eye for a through ball, and many of his shots were ridiculous long humps that he shouldn't have been taking.

And rehashing Neville Neville son's opinion is also lazy.

I've sold the riddle! It's players with D you don't like.

Dawson
Dempsey
Defoe?
Dembele?!

God. Not the Moose! I don't agree with you old man, simply because I've seen otherwise. And if your eyes didn't see what my eyes did, then there's no real point in discussing it especially not here. Shouldn't have posted mine in the first place. But I hate deliberately and obtusely negative people - especially on days like today.

Guys as I said in my thread in the RO this morning, Bale is NOT leaving. I've no problem saying how I get my info either. I own a marketing firm that deals with solely footballers, rugby players and musicians, however the bulk of my work is within English clubs, both premier league and championship. It's my job to make sure they're as marketable as possible, dealing with their endorsements etc.

The people I deal with know more than the majority of journalists out there... The reason I'm saying this, is because I'm 100% confident that Gareth will not be leaving.

Cheers,

M
Hi Mystery

You dont need to justify your info or your reasons but thanks for doing so.
I honestly hope you are right on this one!
If it doesnt work out as you say dont take it personally as the punters can be a bit tetchy......

cheers JJ

If Bale leaves i don't think we will sign any "star" names. And im cool with that
i dont need a marquee signing to justify his sale, hope others dont either
Imo we will do what have been and go after young talent that have potential.

Haha not trying to justify anything mate, was just putting across that my info isnt recycled or passed down in the form of chinese whispers. The majority of what I know is from direct conersations with the relevant parties :)

Thanks for the heads up :)

JJ whilst you're here quickly, out of interest you endorsed LLM's info twice saying how great it was etc but he has been unequivocal in that Bale is staying full stop...? That's quite a contradiction from both of your sources. Just wondered on that front.

My take on the JJ info is, some of the other ITK coming out today may have been from the perspective that we have been severely underwhelmed with Real's offers, and it doesn't look like they will stump up the cash. Whereas maybe the level JJ is getting it at is hearing that the relationships between Bale, AVB, Levy are such, that we are just trying to get maximum cash out of Real.

Right. I'm going to choose to believe Mystery's info and get off to bed firmly in denial that Bale's leaving.

Goodnight. See ya in the nut house again tomorrow.

JJ seems to be awfully confident and there is no doubting he has sources close to the top.

Also disheartened by the fact we have not heard from POTL on the Bale info recently. Earlier in the window, he was beating the Born to Play for Spurs drum just about every week when there was speculation. Haven't heard a bit from him in about a week or so on the matter when things appeared to change. POTL is more of a only positive news type guy, so the fact he isn't saying much speaks volumes imo.

No matter what the outcome is.

Come Crystal Palace away. I am feeling very optimistic.

Still hugely delighted with the Soldado transfer.

What a signing of intent!!!

LLM stuff is excellent and cant fault it, however the Bale info at the moment is only for a select few and unless he is hearing directly from a select few people he may be a bit behind time wise. The club line within is he's staying but go higher and you get the real (no pun intended)story.

I'm just going to say this we are all eager to believe the positive ITK over the negative one

But has jj ever had anything wrong?

He is also the one itk that told me outright we were signing Nelsen & Saha at the time I thought JJ was smoking crack! Soon had egg on my face the next day when Nelsen and Saha were announced!.

As far as itks go I would say JJ is the closest to the oracle as you can be.

So lets not bash him or harass him for info he will pass on what he knows
