What other jobs bigger than Ajax's are likely to come up this summer?
AC Milan looks possible although haven't they already lined somebody up?
Barcelona look set to go for Luis Enrique. United and LVG.
FDB has already ruled out Monaco
Most bigger clubs have already got a manager they will keep - unlike last season. I think this may be why we are underestimating the appeal of coming to Spurs if you are a manager looking for that next step.

I am going to cast aspersions.. the jokers on that show write for papers such as the mail, the mirror and the express (ok also sometimes they have henry winter and paddy barclay who are not as bad as the others)… therefore I would not personally pay much attention to the shit that they spout. They like sherwood for the reasons explained above…. they are paid to sell papers and he gives them easy pickings...
It was Henry winter today defending Sherwood

I wonder if Clubs put out little nuggets if information or rumours to gauge how supporters feel. I wonder if there are any Spurs reps trawling this forum to see who we want?
Anyway as I stated earlier, I suspect Spurs have a few candidates in mind FDB is just one of them.

There was something in the news last week about a city fan being given a job at the club as some sort of fan liaison or something like that so yes I do think they probably have people monitoring fan reaction etc & reporting back.
If you're watching Spurs rep please pass this on - LEFT BACK REQUIRED URGENTLY. Many thanks.

My 2 cents on this are only this much that whoever gets appointed, it happens quickly, in case sherwood is staying it happens quickly so that the new or the incumbent manager can get onto who he wants to stay or go and start working on the target players for the summer. Few things are worse than getting a new manager after preseason with 2 days to go before the first game.

Barcelona been linked to him before

I think Barca cooled on him a bit, FdB has said something like he didn't want to go to Barca now because he couldn't teach Xavi/Iniesta/Messi anything.

I think ultimately he would like to go to Barca but i think he wants to go when he can put his stamp on the club and not have any success credited to inheriting a squad that was partially built by Pep and Tito. Give it a few years (with a club in a larger league) and i think Barca will come calling and he will be listening.

bit from ali z & storts
ali z:Looks like we down to three main runners, In the Levy steeplechase, Poch is coming from behind but making ground quickly on Martinez and FDB, none of these are close to the lone yet, all of them will need to get over some big hurdles.
Dimwood likely to be gone after the Cup final if not before, will not necessarily mean we have a replacement lined up. He will end up in the land of the bootiful, wil lbe a lot of negotiating, lawyers involved in all deals.
As for the runners al are keen, Poch will lose Shaw to Chelsea and LLana prob to pool in the summer, Martinez has no money and will have to sell to buy, FDB fancies it, be fascinating who gets to the line first.
think all three are neck and neck for various reasons, not least the cost of buying Martinez. the cost is huge compared to the others would half our transfer budget.

storts: Interesting that Ali mentions Martinez because I have not been told his name once, i've been informed it's FDB, Poch and Benitez that we are considering most, in that order.
On Lallana, we definitely have interest too, not done and dusted to Liverpool but it's early days, seasons not even over. Townsend will probably be sold this summer too whilst his stock is high
someone:Why on earth would Benitez be 3rd choice? His CV is about 50 million times more impressive than the other 2
storts: You'll have to ask Daniel, only relaying what I know.
Benitez is the most difficult to prise away though.

Can't say i have much issue with either list of managers....would love Martinez but i just can't see him jumping ship at moment.

I like the bit from storts that townsend will be sold. Personally I think hes worth 6-7m max basically because hes English. I do however think he is rated a better player by other fans and we could maybe get 12m for him. Totally agree we should get rid because I think hes a terribly frustrating player

Ali z is very questionable. He seems to wait for others to say something then says it again. The rm thing is balls

One of the ridiculous rumors in one of the paper this week (thnk it was this week) was that we were trying to swap Townsend + £ to Soton for Lallana...swap means it is absolute bollocks though.
