It could be spent better elsewhere given how much he would cost, perhaps. I honestly think we need exactly more of his type though - guile, brains and finesse in the final third.

But I'd love him here....Lallana, Eriksen and Lamela behind the forward is just dreamy to me :)
Exactly, and you could sell Sig and Livermoore for pretty much what you need to get Lallana in

When I first got in to supporting Spurs i was on Vitalfootball instead of SC but the Villa Vitalfootball was always vitriolic towards Spurs. I think the hate comes from us being ambitious, but not yet successful. People hate that person who wants to step up above their level. Also the fact that any decent foreign player/manager will choose Spurs over Villa 99/100 adds to the hate :D The season VDV joined us their forums were hillarious

The guy who runs the whole Vital network (The Fear) is a Villa supporter. That may help you make sense of some of their stances ;).. That said, he's actually a bloody good bloke & is one of few Villa supporters that holds our club in pretty high regard.

EDIT: Also, much of their hatred stems from the fact that it's really not that long ago that we were on pretty much the same level. However, now.............. :sneaky:

I must say, those stats for Lallana are not great.... 68 shots and only 9 goals, at one point i was hoping we may get him but he will be so very overpriced this summer, prob cost twist the price of Kono just because he is English.
He will only be overpriced because of demand. He could play for any of the top teams. Hes a brilliant player who gives everything

It's not really close. Lallana has contributed to 15 goals in 37 games. On average that's a goal every 2.46 games.
In contrast Siggy has contributed 5 goals in 24 at an average of a goal every 4.8 games.

Lallana has probably played almost every minute of every game, whilst Sigurdsson has been used about as much as a spare prick at a wedding.

Well that's certainly a big plus regarding the similar structure and like you say him being able to sync the development effectively. Still not sure how high up Levy's list or priorities that will be.

I also still worry about the style, and if similar to AVB in terms of implementation etc...but I know we'll see that differently so not much point in elaborating too much.

But surely you wouldn't be too dissatisfied with Pochettino? There's more to like than not to like, and our defense needs improving whoever the next manager is regardless.

Don't see why people have turned against the idea so much. The style of football that he has Southampton playing would be perfect for us.

That said first choice should be Benitez imo.

One was outsmarted twice by tactical Tim and the other is Rafa Benitez who is managing a club with more going for it

I guess so but by that logic you could say that Mourinho was outsmarted by Gus Poyet and Alan Pardew (and Mourinho actually had a much better team than those two).

You have to evaluate based on the style and improvement of the team, and Pochetinno checks those boxes imo. He turned Southampton around very quickly.

As did de Boer, came in during an Ajax barren spell and has taken them to four titles on the spin despite losing players like Suarez, Vertonghen and Eriksen. If anything he fits better because when Levy comes to sell an important player de Boer has a proven record of adapting and not allowing it to effect the team

All three would be a good choice for differing reasons. Poch for style of play, FDB as the next big thing and Rafa as a safe proven winner.

I can't move from Rafa, I just think the timing for him and us is perfect.

With Van Gaal out of the running, De Boer really is the outstanding candidate. Will be gutted if we miss out on him.

Fuck Benitez. That dour boring ****. I'd draw up an A3 sign immediately. I don't know much about De Boer, Potchetino is the Argentinian Phil Brown. So I guess I want us to stick with Santini or whoever our manager is at the moment.
