yep but look how long it took Rodgers to get the existing team going. If they sign 5 or more players, which looks likely, they won't be fluent for quite a while plus Rodgers won't have a full week of preparation for the PL each week because of the CL.. can't see them anything like as good as last season without Suarez.

Fits with the article from the Hull paper today that said the move is expected but it may get slowed because people were expecting West Ham to make a last minute offer.....Sounds like something that would slow Levy...another team coming in and potentially moving the price up.

I don't think we should get rid of Dawson until we've got someone else lined up. Whilst Daws is far from the level we need if we're looking at top 4, he's better than nothing and with players like Lovren being touted about at 20m, I'd be wary about getting rid of our existing players too early.
That would not make sense. Vorm would not come here to be a #2. He's good enough to be a #1. However, worth a try though. Liverpool has #1 keeper as their #2 also with Reina(unless he forces a move)
I agree but Dawson is a squad player. I fully expect Kaboul and Chiriches to be ahead of him. I think we could sell him before we bring a replacement in. Im wondering if the hold up is Levy trying to get another mill or 2 out of Hull. 4mill does seem kinda low, doesnt it?
We need a leader type player in the squad, so maybe the hold up isnt the fee but Levy wanting to bring in another leader type before he sells Dawson?

The problem is that Kaboul is a serious injury concern most of the time, and we haven't seen enough from Chiriches to be sure he's a long term first team prospect. Plus I still wouldn't be surprised if Vertonghen comes back wanting a move, so I just don't think we're in a position to be getting rid of people just yet.
As for the fee, I'd have said the 4m fee would be okay but looking at the other fees being bandied about at the moment it does seem very low.
Generally seems like there's a lot of teams with a lot more money than us interested in similar players (Livepool, Arsenal, United...and that's without considering the teams from abroad), and I just can't see us competing this summer.
I thought Lovren would be a good deal at about 8-10m. But 20m? Come on now football...sort yourself out.

Sorry. I do think we will have him for another season or two. He seems like a pretty level headed guy. Just playing devils advocate.
