I was joking you miserable ####. And Dawson will have a shocker tonight because unless someone kicks a ball at him and he can get his body in the way or a cross that is coming in directly on his head he isn't good enough. Some of the things he does is bloody poor to say the least.

Dawson isn't good enough for a defender playing in a top four team. And frankly, he's not good enough when you consider he was playing alongside Ledley King for his formative years. I could forgive his mistakes and his haphazard defending and his gaps in judgement if he was a kid starting out, but he's 31 this year.
I love the man for his passion and belief in the club so I'm not calling for his head or wanting to force him out (if he's happy being fourth or fifth choice then keep him on board), just the simple plain truth that he is not good enough for our ambitions and hasn't been for a while. We can't afford sentimentality as a reason for keeping a liability.

After last season's showing, do you think Kaboul is? And although I backed him for quite a while last season, I've become increasingly dubious about Vlad, mainly because of his aerial ability (or lack of).
I don't think Dawson should be better than fourth choice either. But do we think that Kaboul and Vlad are much better? (On last season's showing, Kabs is a whole lot worse.) And with Lovren gone, just who's left? I just don't see Vlaar and Shawcross as serious upgrades—we'll be bitching about them in a year's time.

This is one of the worst ITK thread performances I've ever seen...
Scoffs at someone having an opinion on a player without seeing them live (which is stupid) then gives his expert opinion of said player after commenting that he watches Stoke as little as possible.
The dog and wolf shit post is basically spot on. Shawcross is a bit better but he does not represent the style of player that we want or that I would expect Poch to want.

There are PLENTY of CBs left. Just because a player doesn't play in the Prem doesn't mean they're not worth a look.
If we want good deals, we need to look outside the league. We can't afford the best in the league. Is Lovren really worth 20M? No way in hell. The 8.5M he was bought from Lyon with is much more like it.

Which doesn't mean I haven't watched them (and by definition Shawcross) at all. Does anyone on here go out of their way to watch Stoke?
