If they've leaked all this for a publicity stunt makes me wonder how we got so much ITK on it after it happening...also the fact that it came from Peach makes me think its possible that they've done this as a PR move. Lift the mood etc
As they would use their official PA reporter to filter it out....knowing full well it would spread like wildfire.

After that statement from the chairman that players won't be sold, I expect news stories to start coming out about transfer requests from MS and JR so that it looks like they forced moves and the chairman was unable to stop them.

Just listened to the interview and he doesn't sound convinced himself. I think a lot will keep changing up to the deadline. As people have said, it sounds like it's just the fee to agree and I think Levy is doing the right thing. We are not desperate to sign them as we have good players here already and one of them cant play yet as he's injured. They both know the manager so adapting to the style shouldn't be a problem. If they both want to come to Spurs as reported, then waiting to get the price down seems right.

? Never good when shit comes out before it's close to happening. On the optimistic side of the coin, I'm pretty sure we made similar claims regarding Gareth Bale last summer, however we caved. Sadly for the parallel, only once Real Madrid stumped up a ridiculous fee, not something I can see us doing with Southampton!

Yep, I don't understand the optimism or even arrogance that there are no doubts we're going to get them. It isn't some bullshit saving face theory, it's because Morgan and JRod are excellent players, Saints' squad is thin and because we've most likely made a derisory offer.
In the slim chance it does happen it will drag all the way to deadline day.
