To be completely honest, Spurs, United, Liverpool and Everton all look shaky at the moment. No clear front runner for it.

Is this the race nobody wants to win?

West Ham 3-1 Liverpool
Leicester 5-3 Man Yoo
Tottenham 0-1 WBA

Even arsenal weren't great they scored with all their shots on target and Aston villa apparently had a very bad virus

Of the three of us who lost against poor sides, ours was the worst result. We were at home for a start.

I don't think we will be involved in the race for a champions league place this season. I didnt expect us to be either given our investment in the side when compared to our rivals. Not just our rivals actually, when compared to everyone in the whole league our investment won't take us anywhere.

We are involved imo just because everyone is playing so bad and have no balance

Problems with each team:
Man Utd - Got no defence or midfield solidity
Liverpool - Sakho doesnt seem to know what he is doing, they are relying on Baloteli to get them scoring
Arsenal - Have no defensive cover and attackers are moodyfuckers
Tottenham - Not at the races yet
Everton - have a tiny squad but they are more up for it

Get real. We are a long, long way from being a team with the quality or the bollocks to get top 4.

Evidence suggests we are in for a long and disappointing season.

Hope I'm wrong.

No chance. United looking stronger. It would be irresponsible of fans to think for one minute that we are a club who could qualify for the Champions League this season.

The fact of the matter is we're deeply unwell. We have a squad that is bloated, rife with internal politics and player power, and who were all brought in by different managers and regimes.

What we all want to start doing, is writing this season off, and look forward to the work that Pochettino will implement over the coming years.

He's in it for the long term. He is working with a lot of bang average footballers who can't implement his ideas. Phase one is about getting rid of the deadwood. Phase two is about formulating a squad that can play his designated systems. Champions League is years away. Absolute years. But that doesn't bother me.

People were talking about Champions league after the Everton game What about now?

I love it when we put in a good performance. People always think its a turning point. It isn't.

During the course of a season any team will put in good performances and bad performances. One performance doesn't mean the following performances will be just as good.

I've always felt we'll be too inconsistent this season to put in a CL challenge. Shame as the teams outside City and Chelsea just aren't performing so it is an opportunity, one we're not going to take advantage of.

I've been a little disappointed with Poch in many regards so far. Felt if we had some width from the beginning against Palace we'd have caused them more problems.

So while I'm hoping for better performances in the run-up to Christmas, I'm more interested in seeing what business we do in January.

when you consider we weren't even that far off the pace last season with tim sherwood in charge then that's a little galling to read, maybe you're right in that we need to go backwards to go forwards but is levy really going to accept that? i doubt it personally.

We don't actually know this for a fact.

You think he'll be here beyond this season? Perhaps the problem isn't that we have a bang average squad, but a bang average coach.

Spurs are currently only 5 points out of 3rd place, nothing has changed and they're still in the CL hunt for sure!! (y)

The really depressing thing is this would be the best chance of getting top 4 for many seasons. Never known a season where so many top 8 clubs have dropped so many points. If any team can get a run of four or five wins top 4 is on. I look back at stoke, west brom, newcastle and palace at home, just six points from those games would have us third or fouth

Look carefully at our next five games, then say how many points you're certain we'll get from them.

What ever we say about West Ham and Big Sam

This window he/they spent wisely - bought players to address their needs and who complimented what they already had

They've built a team unit

I doubt they can last the pace and I still believe we have greater quality at our disposal than them but their manager and people in charge of transfers have done a far better job than ours when it comes to building a team and while we have a disjointed mish mash of players who look unable to play with one another they have a pretty solid and cohesive unit who are all on the same page and working together - getting the most out of what they have

Some of this can perhaps be attributed to stability - they fact the same manager with the same ideas and philosophies has been left in charge and given time to work with the squad while added what he feels he needs based on what he knows from working with the group over a period of time and this suggests we need to finally give a manager that time to do similar before we judge and make changes

Newcastle are another example I suppose - Pardew has had his ups and downs but they now longer stronger than ever

Again I think we're stronger in terms of what we have at our disposal than both these teams and the likes of Swansea but currently we're far less of a unit and weaker than the sum of our parts

This needs to change - the manager needs to be given time (he was never my choice, I still have my doubts but now he's hear we have little just but to back him, give him time and see what he can do with the time given to work on the squad)

I hope these next two windows see us buy and sell with time building in mind and everyone that leaves leaves because they cannot make us a stronger unit and do not suit the managers set up and that those who come in are bought for what they offer the team not for their individual merits and or resale potential

We must have a squad of compatible players who compliment one anothers skill sets and make us a stronger unit than the sum of our parts - I hope we continue to see our best youngsters coming through and I hope we end up with a couple of key players signed who fill the holes in our team while offering some leadership, experience and winning mentality to our youngsters like Davids, Naybet and even Parker have done before

There's a great deal of work to be done to undo the crimes of the past few windows and

West Ham are 3rd!! If it wasn't for Daniel Levy constantly chopping and changing the squad and manager, making shitty decisions imagine where we would be now!
