Teams go on runs, for whatever reason, they just can't win or lose or draw forever, most of the time, at least.

But, do we look like we can move on?

I thought we were after Everton/Chelsea but then Palace and Besiktas showed nothing of note.

Perhaps, they were tired for Palace and most of the form team were not starting, but yet, where is this philosophy on the pitch? Funny how both AVB and Poch had philosophies going into Spurs and yet there was no evidence on the pitch there was any philosophy but general ineffectiveness.

You see teams like West Ham doing well, or Southampton, even teams like Newcastle just pulling out into a run, but since I don't follow them, are there structures already in place that make it look like the team is starting to do well? Or is it just random? Because when even Villa and Burnley can start to look better and not lose, what does it have to take us, since I surely cannot see it on the pitch. Everton/Chelsea look like a fluke performance and then we have gone back into cluelessness.

What's the point in looking forward to fixtures and games when the team is going to plod its way through it without any form of coaching or direction or style of play? I'm hoping the Swansea game shows that progress unlike the last two games. There surely is not any excuse for most of the team starting that game and Poch.

Yes, if we manage to hold on to a little perspective and patience, not turn on the manager/team, not demand his sacking creating more instability and allow time to mould the playing squad.

So yes we can..

If we're patient.

I know its banging the same old drum and its frustrating, but I think we have to suck it up for a while. Doesnt mean we have to be happy or overjoyed we are having to have this period. But to have a sense of perspective, thoughts to the future (and for the matter some of the shit in the recent past) etc while really judging what's going on and try and contain the negativity to an extent.

decent striker and we could turn the corner, im sorry but bobby needs to be sold (Kane even Ade would have taken at least one chance last night)

We are regressing under a manager who can't communicate with his players. It is a fairly poor group of players, but we have certainly regressed under Poch.

People say give him time, but it's another gamble appointment from Levy that almost certainly wont pay off.

I honestly struggle to see where the next win comes from. I fancy Swansea all day long on Sunday. Newcastle will come and fancy their chances in the cup and then Burnley next week at WHL-plenty of poor teams have won already at our place this season. There is little or no fight in the team and the club as a whole looks completely rudderless.

Not with this exact selection of players, I don't believe so anyway.

A decent striker would help, but it would only cover cracks in a sense IMO. Like with United at the moment. I don't know about their games in between but I watched them against Arsenal and Saints and they were awful, worse than us even IMO but they have world class players that can punish you if given the slightest of chances, we severely lack that.

The most annoying thing is that even if we see a good display and get a win away to Swansea, you just know when we next play at WHL we're gonna struggle and look shit again.

We were actually heading the right way under Tim and he seemed to know what needed to be done .

As usual whenever Spurs show any sign of progress Levy nips it in the bud .

This is all going to come to a head by February at the latest if Poch is still here . We should have amassed enough points to avoid relegation but I'm sure we'll finish bottom half .

Poch seems to be an honourable man but he's not shown enough to justify keeping him on for the 2015-16 season .

I don't fancy this lots chances of getting a decent points haul over Christmas .

Edit : would like to see Leicester stay up so hopefully the Spurs Santa can deliver them 3 points .

From this post:

15 league games and you've decided Poch should be shown the door before next season.

You actively want Spurs to lose a game.

Hmmm.

At this point, no. If we look at it in terms of are the foundations being laid (and its just results that are up and down) then its not looking very promising. Its not really about 'turning the corner' but whether Poch is getting his 'way' across.

Consistent pressing high up the pitch? No.
Effective possession game, showing signs of becoming more fluent? No.
Sturdy defence? No.
Scoring goals? Not as bad as last season, but haven't scored for 3 games now and seem reliant on two/three players (Kane, Chadli, Eriksen).

Our better (well, more spirited, even they haven't been high on quality...) performances seem to have come when we have dropped deep, given up the ball and played on the counter. Which almost certainly isn't what Poch wants to do every week.

A couple of astute January signings and more of the determination showed against Everton would do me.

The potential is certainly there and being an optimist I think we will realise it.

So in answer to the OP, yes we can and I very much hope we do.

Publically criticising everyone, spitting bile everywhere and taking absolutely no responsibility for anything else himself? Come on, we weren't progressing. The players seemed openly dismissive of him. Just look at that end of season West Ham match. It was a complete and utter shambles. Nobody gave a toss.

I'm not saying Poch is the right man - the jury is most definitely out - but suggesting Tim was the man to take us forward is wrong.

ETA: I have serious concerns at this point. However, he deserves at least a season. The Everton match was really positive, we just need to see if we can use that as a template and devise an alternative game-plan at home to combat a defensive side who try to stifle us (a big 'if', I know!).
