Just watched it again. After Bentaleb lost the ball he made no effort to win it pack. He didn't even break into a run to track the player who ran past him.

:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:
Massively overrated player...

To think we could have had Stambouli playing in a 4-3-3... If he is good enough for PSG he is good enough for us.

Yet another total Spurs fuck up.

bentaleb bottling it big time, passing the ball straight to united 4/5 times is bad enough but he's hiding now when we have the ball watch it closely!

time for some people to wise up and get their heads out of his arse
Should we get our heads out of his arse when he was brilliant against both Chelsea and Arsenal last year too?

Guy's had a bad game. He's had plenty of good ones for us. Needs to tighten up his passing in dangerous areas for sure, but the venom on here is shameful.

Lot's of positives to take from the game so far. I think we can sneak a draw if we start the second half like we did in the first. This United defence looks shaky and we ned to take advantage of that. Stick Lamela on, please.
That's the shame of it, united were bang average before our mistake. They better make 2/3 more signings before pundits start talking about the title. Never gonner happen otherwise.

The goal knocked our momentum. Imagine being on the field playing like bosses and a teammate gives them the ball to go and score. Takes the wind out of you. Need the ref to blow and get in and reset.

Conceding a goal is a set back, of course, but we have got to be mentally prepared better for that to happen, and not just shrink into our shell, stop doing basic things that we were doing right and enabling us to dominate.

You can't just collectively crumble at the first set back. We must be mentally prepared for set backs, know how to react.

Walker has been ok and I feel bad targeting him over others, but fuck me, even when he is playing alright he scores an own goal. Sums him up.

When only 1 of your cm2 can pass it puts extra pressure onto the CM that can pass.

Dier off for Mason for me.

We did well up to the goal and Eriksen should have scored.
Dier has played well imo. Doing his job defensively and providing short outlet passes. Done nothing to deserve coming off...

Alli for Bentaleb in about 10 minutes.

I cannot believe that there are people blaming Walker on the goal. Just laughable. If that was your new hero Trippier he wouldn't have made it within 5 yards of Rooney (who really should have tapped in first time anyways).

Alli for Bentaleb who has carried on his nightmarish preseason form.

I really like Pochettino but he's making it difficult for himself... Lamela should've started on the wing, Dembele as CM and Trips ahead of Walker.
yeah individual players getting a panning on here but i think its really hard for the 2 centermids, with such a lack of movement from chadli and dembele, meaning for any width the fullbacks have to be too high meaning any mistake leaves you in the shit, the WF's need to be more available and wider, at least till the final 3rd or when we have the ball

I'm a big Bentaleb fan but their goal came from one of many loose square balls he's played today.

Did the exact same thing at Old Trafford last season too.

Apart from him it's been pretty solid.

You're forgetting Anfield last season as well - he literally played through balls for Liverpool forwards.

Apart from when Dier did what Bentaleb did but just didn't get punished by Utd, or get the thirty "what a wanker" posts that Bentaleb got.
The difference being that Dier has actually contributed by breaking up play really really well, defusing a number of potentially dangerous attacks from United. I love Bentaleb as a player but he has been incredibly poor, offered almost nothing in fact.

Getting dominated in the centre of midfield for the last 25 minutes, and look pretty one dimensional in attack.

No surprise we're looking for a CM and attackers.

This game just further proves how much we need Berahino and Bender.

No pace, and a weak, inexperienced midfield.
It proves how much we need to change away from 4-2-3-1, how much we need a proper DM, how much we need players who know how to pass a ball and how much we actually need wingers with pace who can actually do something.

when Bentaleb thought so highly of himself after end of last season to negotiate so long for a new lucrative contract he seemingly thinks to deserve, he is gonna be bottle-necking himself.. if this continues, it will really be a shame..

Anyone who blames walker for that goal is being ridiculous...he did all he could. Bentaleb on the other hand has been shit today.
