It's fucking depressing watching him play these days when you remember that goal against Palace. Makes me want to reach for the bottle. His decline epitomises that of the team as a whole. No more cheeky nutmegs or antics with Eric Dier (remember him?). Bit of a current day Jason Dozzell.

He’s just not a very good player and it’s mental that some get confused why he’s playing so poorly.

He is a severely limited player who doesn’t fit into a modern attacking system. He’s never been a well rounded player.

He’s Tim Cahill that’s all. He is capable of the odd good through ball or instinctive finish and timed run, that’s about it.

Believed his own hype too soon.

Agree - and needs to be moved on.

He got a bit of a kicking on sky after the game but I think most of the comments were spot on tbf.

They are so spot on. I’ve been saying the same for months. He’s lost his hunger and acts like he’s made it. His form has fallen off a cliff since he got his last big contract. Coincidence? I think not.

He seems too interested in the celebrity lifestyle off the pitch. He says all the right things in the media but when he’s out on the pitch he’s fucking useles
It's unfortunate for Dele to be judged purely on goals even when playing in different positions. It's becoming toxic .

He's judged on contributing fuck all regardless of the position he plays.

If Dele could play the position he's in the team for as an attacking midfielder we wouldn't need to be linked with a Bruno Fernandes. Problem is he's been garbage for the past 2 years and can barely complete a pass. Hasn't worked on his game or improved at all. Still can't use his left foot. Technically so limited.

They're spot on on Sky.

The 5 year contract he signed like 1-2 years ago is where he lost it.

He got money now, thinks he's made it.

Doesn't have to work for it like in the lower leagues where he came through. No hunger anymore.

It's sad to watch really. Someone needs to tell him and kick him in the arse.

I think Dozzell just does him for pace!

In the year Dele signed for us SC ran “select a player to sponsor...” thread. Dele was my man. I need some material if anyone can help as I’m failing him badly now....?

I understand what you are saying however I personally don't see a position in this team for Dele. He may go on to get some of that hunger and a few goals back, however I would prefer Lo Celso, Lamela & Moura to him in the team at the minute as they will provide more goals, assists, flow of our game than Dele can.

Then in January or the Summer I do believe that he could quite easily be replaced. Bruno Fernandes to name just one but I think there are a lot of names that I could suggest we go for that would suit our style of play better than Dele currently.

He is a number 10.

Also, he has lost that edge he had to his game that he had in the first two seasons here. Once again, not sure if it's perception or the media narrative that occurred during that period (that off the ball incident at West Brom etc) but that was part of his game.

Thought he looked more like the Deli of old on Tuesday and yet again, position change and it all goes to shit.

23 years old and people writing him off.

Shame.

Probably because he doesn’t offer much of anything else either. If he’s not a goal scorer from midfielder, what is he? He’s not creative, he doesn’t carry the ball through the middle very well, he doesn’t control the tempo, he isn’t a ball winner...

Yes Dele is awful at the moment, but so is the rest of the team.

Simply can't judge and write him off when the team have been pretty shocking for months. At least he's out there playing like he gives a fuck.
