That's exactly the reason why. They've made it clear that they want to re-establish United as an attacking, free flowing team. Which is almost the exact opposite of Simeone's style.I assume because of the Beckham incident, although I seriously doubt whether any Utd fans would give a shit about that 20 years on.
There might be an issue with the playing style though. They didn't go in for Mourinho's style of football, so I'm not sure what they'd make of Simeone's which is arguably even more conservative.

Why?
Why are so many people saying Pochettino is open to taking the Arsenal job on the back of these comments, what am I missing???
Pochettino was asked specifically about a move to Arsenal and told TyC Sports: "It’s important to have a moment of calm to lower the decibels and find the energy to take on a new project, and we’ll see where that is.
"I’m going to spend a few days here [in Rosario] with my family and friends, and then I’ll return to London next week."
That's Poch for you. He never ever gave a fucking straight up answer. Drives one mad.probably because he didn’t straight up say “nah mate”
surely Everton would be massive step down, he needs to go somewhere to get that no trophies weight off his back , Bayern or Juve fit that billI think Poch next team depends on what he aims to achieve in his next team
If he decides that enough is enough with this young players and slowly building a team but now he wants to win trophy, Real or Bayern or Juve with their ability to buy experience winners will be better choice.
If he is still sticking to path of young players, building up a team, playing a fixed out of the back , full pressing way.....basically his 5 year plan template he started with us, Everton would be perfect for him
Everton core of Pickford, Keane, Digne, Richardlison, Bernard, Calvert-Lwein, Sigurdsson, Davies is not so much difference from what he started with at Tottenham
The fact he has the no trophies thing hanging over him probably rules him out of quite a few high profile jobs though.surely Everton would be massive step down, he needs to go somewhere to get that no trophies weight off his back , Bayern or Juve fit that bill
Not convinced about that. People see Spurs as a good club but not a huge one. Taking us to the CL final is a huge feather in his cap.The fact he has the no trophies thing hanging over him probably rules him out of quite a few high profile jobs though.

Juve are starting to creek in the league and are trailing Inter Milan in Serie A and they looked allegedly at Poch before. Wonder if he'd hold out for them? Certainly said he'd like to manage in Italy in the future and the job looks like it'll come up sooner rather than later.
Utd can't sack Ole now hehe, well they'd be stupid to after these last few results anyway, things could obviously change in the next few months but they can't build on this and actually back him they may not need to hire Poch.
As for Poch the best thing for him would be to wait until the end of the season, there's potential jobs at Utd, Arsenal, Juve, Real, Barca, PSG...quite a few decent clubs there.
He's waiting for the West Ham job to become availableYou can probably add Dortmund, Man City, Bayern and maybe even Atletico to that list. He would really be stupid to move quickly now to Everton or something not fitting. It could be nearly free choice in the summer (if the clubs are interested).
I suspect that his next job will be either in England or Spain, as these are the two languages he can communicate in. I know he played in France, but that was a relatively short period.
His options are likely to be Arsenal, Everton, Utd, Madrid x 2 and possibly Barca. Not bad options!
