I was sat in the home end today. Southampton fans were worried about us until about the 15th minute. They actually thought they made us look bad. Bless them. That was a painful 90 minutes, we didn’t even look like scoring. It was close to being our worse performance of the season although I still think the Newcastle game just edges it.

As I just said, him and Kane looked fucked and offered absolute zero against Norwich. What did we expect would happen today with another short turnaround? We got what was to be expected, two even more fucked players offering even less. When we have such a limited gameplan entirely revolving around quick transitions up front then this is going to affect you big time, and they may as well have been given a breather for all the use they will be. But no, ploughed on and Kane's got injured. Terrible selection and management for me.
Completely agree. Poch always rotated smartly around the festive period and we’d often come away with the best points haul in the league. These matches turn into wars of attrition, trotting the same players out there four times in nine days is a recipe for disaster. Son really fucked us though it must be said.

Time for changes. Minimum 3 new signings in January. Minimum 3 youngsters promoted. New formation with square pegs in square holes. Underperforming players dropped or sold. Find a settled XI and stick with it.

Write this season off and build for next year. Then bring in 3 or 4 more players in the summer. Complete rebuild including a DoF, ideally Campos from Lille.

Too many players can't be relied upon.
I think it's really hard to do this during the winter window. I'd love it if it happened but I just can't see it. My hope is for one or two good signings and I really hope we get rid of the players who either don't want to be here or doesn't deserve to be here (but that is also something that will be hard during the winter window).

Changed my thoughts on Vertonghen. He's past it, we should let him leave and replace him with another centre half.

The decision making is atrocious, and the final ball quality non existent. No one took any care to make sure they were putting in a dangerous ball, it seemed they were content just to put in there and hope for the best. This is going to be a long second half of the season, the only game to look forward to is the CL game.

Poch didn't help himself in the end with some of the stuff he was coming out with. Since just before the CL final, he looked and sounded like he didn't want to be there. And according to some insiders - if it's to be believed - he said as such. I guess he wasn't going to walk away from £12m. His attitude in the end, MUST have rubbed off on the players. And now we find ourselves where we are because of that. It's a long way back for these players.
Very interesting, I didn't know this.

There were qualities that Poch lacked, certainly, but I cannot believe he wouldn't want to be in a final and win something. If he won the CL, it sounded like he would of walked away after but surely we should of seen this as a sign that he wasn't going to be backed. I reckon he was always in Levy's office asking for new reinforcements. Maybe the new stadium came at a bad time? Not saying I didn't want the stadium!

A total waste of my 90 minutes. This is the last game I am going to watch. I do not anticipate any big changes if Jose thinks that our players are good enough. You guys have been great. I am out. Peace.

Easy tiger. Take a deep breath.

Been so much worse than this in the past!

Yes, mate. Agree. Hate to say it as he has done a lot for us and one of my favourites, amongst others, i am sure, but he is past it now. Too slow and always looks like he is winging it.

Fucking wretched, all over the pitch. Like a group of fucking strangers, with very little quality.

None of them help each other, no one moves off the ball, and the quality on the ball is dreadful (with a special mention for the quality out wide, of which there fucking is none).
The hoof ball tactic, fine - but when it ain't working after an hour, maybe you might wanna change it. Its just brainless. The body language was shocking as well, pretty much from the first minute. They look an absolute mess right now.

Lucas scored some very important goals last champions League campaign, right? He can score. Fact! But I'm not talking about Lucas going through on goal.

Who do I trust in the ball out wide? Lucas

Who I trust in the penalty area? Kane

But there is a process in between Lucas and Kane where an option needs to be created for a chance to be created.
Our midfield has been non existent most this season, but Lucas will always try going alone or hold on to the ball longer than needed, sometimes just needs to lay someone else off

Been so much worse yes but not at a time when we were challenging at the top of the league and similar to Liverpool a few seasons ago ready to take the final step. They did and we didn’t and that’s what makes this so much worse

Needs a revolution - don’t think we would be doing any worse by putting in the likes of Skipp, Tanganga, Parrott (from the bench), even TOB and Maghoma- at least they would either sink or swim, rather than slowly drown like the current first XI.

And Sissoko - can we just stop with this now, please? If playing two CMs he cannot be one of them, at all. The fact he is becoming a cult figure is a sign of our relapse to mediocrity and effort as the maximum we hope for, rather than the minimum we demand.
