Post script: we are also seeing how much we miss Son when he's absent. He changes the way teams play against us.

Agree but it was Son’s stupidity for missing out these three games. These days there are so many cameras around, you can’t escape punishment for such reckless acts even though Rudiger overacted in the incident.

“Tanguy is a complex situation. A situation that started in August and we are now in January and it is still the same.”

Hmmm.

Our midfield has been non existent most this season, but Lucas will always try going alone or hold on to the ball longer than needed, sometimes just needs to lay someone else off

But I will always go back to options. Our movement had been poor. JMs first 3 games in charge, the movement was superb. So good that Sissoko was scoring. Players were running into the box, not waiting being marked. You can't single out players on the ball until off the ball is fixed, that is when you see the real players

what's shocking is that Soton were shit in the second half, but all they had to do was to clear the ball, even for a throw in. We were in their box just once and Moura could've scored, but that's it

I agree. I don’t think the Southampton defence will have an easier game all season.

Very interesting, I didn't know this.

There were qualities that Poch lacked, certainly, but I cannot believe he wouldn't want to be in a final and win something. If he won the CL, it sounded like he would of walked away after but surely we should of seen this as a sign that he wasn't going to be backed. I reckon he was always in Levy's office asking for new reinforcements. Maybe the new stadium came at a bad time? Not saying I didn't want the stadium!
I guess we may never really know. Or wait until Poch comes on as a Spurs legend guest on a Spurs podcast in 30 years time and he spills the beans!

Always less space in attack though when you give away the first fucking goal as always. Wankers

I knew it was going to prove costly as soon as it was said he was out for three games. So did the club, hence the appeal.

Been so much worse yes but not at a time when we were challenging at the top of the league and similar to Liverpool a few seasons ago ready to take the final step. They did and we didn’t and that’s what makes this so much worse

If we had sold Eriksen at the time they sold Coutinho, and got similar sort of money, had then invested ( and spent more ) that money in some great signings and had a manager of the level of Klopp in charge, perhaps we would have been in a similar position to them right now.

What are we? Stop following the club because we aren’t title challengers anymore? Sure it’s a pile of wank right now and we’ve seemingly completely fucked it up, but that’s just typical Tottenham. It’s nothing new. If anything we’ve started to fuck it up even more spectacularly than before!

If people ‘can’t face the current situation’ please go follow someone else ( City your best bet ) and certainly give up your Liverpool ticket to someone who wants to be there.

There isn’t a pair balls amongst the entire squad. They all come across as having a weak mentality and having lapped up the praise that they were “world class” when things were going well and now give the impression they can just turn up and beat teams because they have “quality”. Well, they haven’t been doing that for more than a year now.

I don’t know why they are not embarrassed.

The basics are that you have to earn the right to play and work harder than your opponents; we don’t and haven’t for a long time. Remember when we pressed Man City into the ground at WHL and Pep said it was his wake up call in English football? Where has that gone? Surely the players are intelligent enough to be able to compare that performance to the dross they’ve been serving up over the last year. No?

Teams used to fear us. Not now. Now I don’t look at any fixture and think it’s a definite win. Its very much back to the “lads, it’s Tottenham” from Fergie’s days. I’d bring Roy Keane in for a day to sit each of the down and give them a rocket for fun!

The worry is that in all facets of our play - attack, midfield and defence - is lacklustre with even the basics of work ethic and energy in short supply.

Too few players wanting to stand up and be counted with others looking decidedly well past their sell by date.

The most depressing aspect is that I don't see much optimism for an about turn in fortune because I see little to no progression in how we are applying ourselves and translating Jose's tactics on field.

I'll be lying if I said I wasn't worried....

Still think you don't need new players Jose? Honestly we have some atrocious footballers in this squad, and our only good ones are now injured. This season is done, without serious investment we will be a midtable club for a long time to come.
Don’t go blaming Jose he’s only saying what the chairman is telling him to. Blame Fucking Levy top dollar to watch Spurs with relegation football fuck you Levy and the fucking owner no ambition on the field what so ever all they care about is fucking pound coin signs!! Please sell the club to someone who cares about the fans and wants to win things. The Chelsea game before Xmas no discount in the shop for season ticket holders, boxing what do you reckon discount what a fucking horrible twat that is what he thinks of us yes fuck all is what he thinks of us fucking twat!!!!

All of these players need to fuck off and be replaced with those who might actualky show some desire

Everyone was diabolical. Couldn't string 3 passes together, none of them.

I am so fucking pissed off with today's performance.
Why just today?
Norwish was awful - not sure how we got a draw there
Brighton first half - with second half not much better but substitutions from bench plus bit of Dele magic changed that
Chelsea - woeful

Our team structure does not allow us to play football - and it starts with allowing a RB to play totally out of position which then impacts everywhere else

There is never movement up top because too many players push on leaving midfield bereft, so short quick passing not possible.
As result revert long ball but we rarely win any battles.

Whether KWP or Foyth are good enough does not matter they can at least play the conventional role.

With Aurier playing we always have a midfielder being pulled out of position and then being outnumbered in that area.

JM has big decisions to make and believe we should potentially write this season off and see what we've got in our ranks. Jan has gone , Toby is struggling. Lets try Tangana and Sanchez next time out.

Could go on but we need to change what we are doing quickly

Needs a revolution - don’t think we would be doing any worse by putting in the likes of Skipp, Tanganga, Parrott (from the bench), even TOB and Maghoma- at least they would either sink or swim, rather than slowly drown like the current first XI.

And Sissoko - can we just stop with this now, please? If playing two CMs he cannot be one of them, at all. The fact he is becoming a cult figure is a sign of our relapse to mediocrity and effort as the maximum we hope for, rather than the minimum we demand.
To be fair he wasn't today until Ndombele got injured again. It totally changed things in centre midfield. But I agree we should avoid playing him in a 2. I think his best position is tucked in on the right because he covers on that side mostly anyway and he started there today. Centre midfield is a massive problem for us right now. I really want to see Winks and Ndombele as the 2 but we really need a new defensive midfielder.

It’s brutal right now but I would give my left nut to be at the Liverpool game or any game for that matter. One of the frustrations of living overseas.
