A young backup to Kane sounds fine to me. I don’t watch enough football anymore to know if he’s a really smart purchase, but given our current situation, I’ll take this happily.
He's only 2 years younger than Kane.

I spot a problem
On paper it makes sense. Tall target man that is happy to put himself about for the team and gets on crosses.
He's 6 ft, smaller than Kane.
Over the past 2.5 seasons in the same league, Milik has 29 in 59 for a better side than Piatek plays for, compared to Piatek’s 26 in 56. Very similar strike rates, and Milik had far more experience to start with at a decent level having joined Leverkusen at 19. That’s suggests that if nothing else, Piatek is a natural goalscorer.Dembele and Milik are both quality. Both arguably too good to be no2 to Harry. Piatek is a step down from both imo.
Milik has been ravaged by injuries thoughOver the past 2.5 seasons in the same league, Milik has 29 in 59 for a better side than Piatek plays for, compared to Piatek’s 26 in 56. Dembele is harder to judge having only played in second tier leaves... even Janssen tore up Eredivisie.
It’s very difficult for us to recruit strikers because of Kane so snapping up a talented young striker who is seeking a change of scenery at a reasonable fee is about the best situation we can hope for IMO. He may not set the world alight but we are unlikely to be able to bring in anyone who is clearly at a higher level. All for this personally.
That’s why I compared based on games played rather than time spent.Milik has been ravaged by injuries though
Like this...The last time we signed a genuine striker that wasn’t Dutch, I was shaped like a bronzed god
Milik has a far more optimal frame for a target man, is almost Firmino-esque with how he drops deep and links with teammates and is also a good finisher. Much more complete than Piatek from what I’ve seen.Over the past 2.5 seasons in the same league, Milik has 29 in 59 for a better side than Piatek plays for, compared to Piatek’s 26 in 56.
