I've never seen the guy play, but a colleague of mine is a huge Milan fan and watches them every week. He just sent me the following once I told him we're after him:

"Will be sad to see him go, should be great for Tottenham though - if you have the players that can deliver the ball to him he’s a killer."

Eriksen is probably leaving/out of form, Dele can’t pass, Aurier is sporadic, NDombele injury prone - I’m struggling to see who is gonna deliver the ball to him..??‍♂️

That gun celebration is lame. He’ll have to cut that out here.

I do find the timing of the club's Kane announcement today strange. If we are really after this guy or indeed any striker, the announcement shows any club that we are desperate.

Unless I suppose the deal is almost complete....

He is as close to Kane as we will find. Unfortunately I mean the Kane of this season - that while still a top finisher, is largely useless in the buildup play.

So the main complaint is that he isn't the Harry Kane that won 2 golden boots and instead the one that's scored 17 in 25. Oh, what a disaster.

He's a second string striker, lower the expectations.

Apparently Di Marzio ha said we will include Wanyama and Foyth in any deal...

I'm all for getting Piatek, I think as a do called back up to Kane we d struggle to do better, but if hate to lose Foyth.

Thought he said we tried offering them but Milan were not interested?

Well looks like this one has legs, let's hope he can offer us something if it does go through. He did well in his first year in Italy but tailed off this season and hope it's not a case of he went over to Italy as bit of an unknown quantity, initially surprised people but ultimately teams have worked him out.

Can't say I've watched him too much, but there are suggestions his all round game isn't up to much and it game relies heavily on opportunities being created for him. Suppose ultimately he will be 2nd fiddle to Kane although with the nature of Kane's injury, you'd imagine he'll get substantial game time. Just hope he gives the team something, really couldn't deal with another Janssen situation where it is was clearly obvious the guy wasn't up to it and became a pain moving him on. At least Piatek has scored goals in a much better league compared to the Eredivisie so there's some hope there I suppose.

I doubt we’re gonna spend £30m on a back up striker. It’s just not our style. Fans are getting desperate but the club has got to think long term. There is little chance he hits the ground running as there is a huge difference between the playing styles in serie A and prem. And when Kane returns he will be firmly relegated to the bench, lose confidence and sharpness and then most probably ask to leave. We’ll then need to take a loss on him. I just don’t see it I’m afraid.
In other words you're saying we can't sign a striker outside the premier league while we got Kane? Lol

Know fuck all about him however am still pleased we have actually bought someone this quick rather than dick around til the last day, or buy no one at all, which is not out of the question!

In my days as a Spurs fan we have spent big on strikers like Rebrov and Robbie that just did not make it so I feel its better to expect less and him over deliever!

On another note, suppose we are pretty much cornered into bringing a striker in due to the nature of Kane's injury but question is will a spend on Piatek mean that we may have to shelve plans for a DM and/or RB? Suppose a lot of it relies on who leaves, but couldn't see us really spending too much more if there are no major outgoings.

Kind of resigning myself to the fact Aurier is our RB for the rest of the season but midfield is looking very flaky with Sissoko out for a lengthy period of time. Winks, Dier, an Ndombele who is struggling to put games together and Lo Celso still finding his feet doesn't fill me with great confidence.
