For too long now we've tried to be 'too cute' in the market.

Don't get me wrong, Levys's creative methods are part of our upward trajectory as a Club but there comes a time where we just have to deviate away from the usual MO and aggressively recruit what's needed.

We just haven't done that well enough.
We haven’t done that at all

I really wanted us to sign this guy, I think we should have done whatever was required in the summer (even if it meant not signing Le Celso)

Right now, I hope we can sign him

We do need him, we lack creativity and the ability to score from distance

That being said, we probably need a right back, a DM and a left back more.... maybe even a CB

The problem is we've failed to steadily rebuild and now face a total do over. It's too expensive to be done in one window

Edit- and of course someone who can cover Kane

100000000% this. We know Eriksen is leaving. We know we create next to nothing without his input. We know we can't solve it wit existing personnel...

What the f**k is Levy waiting for??

The same could be said for Grealish. Villa wanted 25m. Levy tried to take advantage of a situation and bring the price down even further. Just really stupid.

Hoping there’s a still a chance we could snag him but it looks incredibly unlikely. Hopefully selling Eriksen is give us some extra funds. Cue ? ratings

Really good player. Shame he's going to United. SSN saying we wanted him, he wanted us, but Lisbon rejected our 70m bid (40m upfront +30m installments) - and now they're likely to accept the same thing.

Gutted about this, he’s exactly the level of player we needed to be signing, unless we are going back in for dybala levy can fuck off.

Can we not talk bollocks in every transfer thread please thanks?

See below for the non-fiction

Gealish was a complicated one tbh. I can completely understand why Levy did what he did because Villa had to sell and from their end it was very close to happening for the money we wanted to pay. The takeover came from nowhere and happened super quickly and from that point on he was never going to be allowed to leave. They never wanted to sell so were holding out for as long as possible hoping for a cash injection so they didn't need to sell, but it got to a point where they had to. We moved then the new investors appeared. It wasn't like we could have just paid a bit more and got it done because that wasn't possible.

This is from a combination of the villa end and JG people. I

Is he being too cute or just genuinely deluded? Any offer for an incoming player is going to be at a market price from 18-24 months ago. Quite simply not with the time’s when it comes to purchasing.

All our issues are down to recruitment, be it from Harry’s era, to Poch and it’s happening again now. Slightly bizarre that I find myself feeling sorry for José (apart from his fucking hefty pay packet). He’s not going to have known anything like it. Embarrassing

This or Dybala was?
Both...more so Dybala, every transfer window we are linked with a big name player and every window it’s the same outcome...’we tried but...(insert excuse)’. I’m aware it’s not easy getting these top tier players in but if we aren’t prepared to pay what’s needed why bother...go for players we can actually afford!

Yeah, in the same window when we signed Ndombele who is bigger name than Bruno...

"Ole Gunnar Solskjær has shifted his stance and said he is ready to sign a player this month as a “short-term fix” for Manchester United but insists it would not be to protect his own position."

If it's Fernandes, I'm sure he's chuffed. Welcome to the club, Short-Term Fix.
