Certainly a possibility, but its well quoted that Mourinho likes the player and we know how close we were to getting him in the summer, so I wouldn't be shocked if it was true.

Oh I agree we’re probably interested, but can’t imagine we’ll pay the £60m or whatever his fee is when a striker and DM are still required.

We’ll only go for him if we get rid of Eriksen I suspect. No surprise we are linked though.

Please be true. We badly need Bruno. An AM is a must with Eriksen leaving this summer. Do we have other desperate needs? Yes we do. But AM is 100% a need as well.

We failed to address the squad for 18 months and this is what we are left with. A squad desperately needing an overhaul with aging players and expiring contracts. In desperate need of an RB, a CB, an LB, a DM, an AM and a backup striker. We also have a need at keeper. We have to start addressing these needs somewhere and we need to start this month with at least 2 in.

Would be gutted to see Bruno Fernandes sign for United.

In my opinion he is the best and most realistic replacement for Eriksen. Would love us to sign him

I’m confused why people are crying about this. It was clear at the time our interest was just a negotiation tactic to get the Lo Celso fee down. Besides he plays at number 10 the same as Lo Celso and Alli. Alli is evidently undroppable so it would makes nonsense to bring yet another number 10 in when Lo Celso can’t even get a game.
With rumours Levy trying to negotiate the Celso fee down, is he using the game tactic again?

There’s no negotiation tactics involved. When we signed we paid 16 mil for the loan fee. Either we sign him or lose him after paying 16 mil for a loan. We have very little room to negotiate. It’s in our best interests to make the transfer permanent.

Back to Fernandes - if he’s available we have to go for him. He’s a cracker player and scores a bucket load of goals.

I know people say “we don’t need him because we need a dm” but if a player is available and that signing will enhance your squad over five years as part of your long term plan, you go for him

a squad simply isn’t built in one windows - you have to think over a season or two.

it’s why Liverpool kept finishing below us until they now have one of the best squads in Europe. It took them a while to sort out their defence, they kept signing players they “didn’t need” but Allison and vvd were the final pieces of the jigsaw

Leicester took a long view and now have a good first XI

we clearly need a CDM but if there isn’t one available then you have to be open to signing other positions with a view on 3-5 windows

I’d be pretty surprised if we did buy Bruno Fernandes that we’d exercise the Lo Celso option in January.

This is the journo to follow. If he's reporting anything, it'll likely be on the money

Honestly I can see this happening if we are getting that 20M fee for Eriksen this month. If he is gonna walk for free then I don’t think do it.
