There was nothing wrong with the system we played today. Lamela, whilst he played well enough, was so, so wasteful in the final third. Put Lo Celso or Ndombele there and it’s a different story. Likewise, if Kane actually bothered to play today, I honestly think we would’ve been 2/3-0 up in this match. We looked comfortable for a large chunk of the game.
Completely agree and I'm a little frustrated others aren't seeing it.

Numerous occasions we had a great break on only for a player to lack the sharpness to move it into the right space.

United defended poorly and had that been Bayern they'd have won with a clear difference.

Maguire was getting real tight to Kane and pressing high, if Kane had have had match sharpness I'm certain he'd have exploited it more and Lindelhof was all over the place.

Bergwijn' s goal was a prime example of the errors that were there. Unfortunately we lacked the sharpness and options to take advantage.

Ndombele must be finished here realistically.
I think he can turn it around. You just don't know what goes on behind the scenes. If you were playing on the same team though you must get pretty fucked off watching people ambling around making half arsed attempts to chase down the opposition and win the ball back. I hope he starts to apply himself, would be unreal player if he did.

He did. He let Pogba get past him, That was the first mistake and then he tried the arm lock

But that's not what happened. Pogba grabs Dier's arm. Do you even watch this shit?

Baffling. You're so certain it's a clear pen but get the basic facts of what happened wrong. It's only been replayed a billion times ffs :ROFLMAO:

Like I have mentioned in Kane thread, his poor showing already started at the end of last season, continuing to this, even when Poch was here. You wouldn't think he could have chased every ball from the front and stormed through those defence and scored and proved to the gaffers his ability is way more effective than drawing defences out for the wide players to play? I would. But whether he can or still wanna do that is another matter. And only he has the answer.
I'm not sure he can make that decision.

But the problem is, I think what you are asking from him is just not something a 26 year old with a bad ankle is able to do anymore. It is just not the most effective use of his talents. He still works hard, he just isn't a fit 22 year old anymore.

Watch Pogba’s left foot as well. He limply drags it looking for contact then gets caught in the turf and trips himself up.

I think some of the comments on this thread tonight have been way over the top, anyone reading them would have thought we'd been beaten 4-0 at home, and were awful in defence.
I think a bit of context and perspective is needed.
That was the first game back after 3 months and I didn't see the shambolic defending that I was seeing before lockdown with errors all over the place.

Granted Kane was well off the pace, but FFS that was his first game back after 6 months out. What did we really expect ?
United were not there for the taking and had an extremely strong line up and bench.

Not our best performance but by no means our worst. We battled well and drew against a team who will probably win most of their remaining games.

The pogba obsession sky have is weird.

Of course he looked good when he came on, we weren't pressing him. The guy had tonnes of space
Yes, same listening here in the States. I could practically hear them unzipping their pants when he came on... and when he got them the penalty it was absolute wankfest.

If you can't get on the pitch when there are five subs allowed and every player on the pitch is blowing out of their arse, it's time to accept reality. The coach doesn't want you.

I just noticed if arsenal win tomorrow they go above us. That’s embarrassing. Another reason why we had to win.

Saying that, we looked better than before the break. Who knows what will happen but we have to be more proactive.

We were much more aggressive and physical tonight though. A bit more bite in the tackle at last.

So do we know if Lucas is fit for Tuesday? If so I'd seriously consider resting Kane and bringing him on as a sub for 30 minutes a game until he's match fit.

I love the guy as much as everyone else, but if him starting is going to be to the detriment of the team, like it was tonight, I'd rather we eased him back in. His time will come but it wasn't tonight, and it won't be on Tuesday.

We need to stop being the Harry Kane team as it is doing us more harm than good

Yeah - that's why I said early doors I couldn't see where the foul was.

It's because there's very little contact and no foul. It's not a penalty.

Utterly bizarre that SPurs fans are acting like it is. I think it's because Dier gets done by the skill and you're expecting the rash challenge and pull back on the shoulder. But the video evidence clearly shows Pogba initiates the arm contact and the collision of legs is not from any "challenge" by Dier but accidental at best (prompted by Pogba at worst)

Very very soft. Dier has been very harshly dealt with by the ref there.

He’s literally quantified it by saying he was talking about attacking players.

Stop hearing what you want to hear.

I assume you’ve been as vocal about Jose’s public support for Ndombele this week?

Ndombele is an attacking player. He offers nothing in defence.
