Don't think they'll bend over but they look spent, unfortunately. Not surprising after their mentality and intensity this season. But i hope what you mention is the case!

Before the Newcastle game Jose was telling the players 3 more wins in the league to win the europa league. So he definitely wants to be in it and he thinks we're gonna win it if we qualify. Obviously the goons getting to the final have put a spanner in the works but if we make it I'm sure we will go very far in the competition and it's another route to CL and if Chelsea, United, City and Liverpool are not in the EL then I think we have a fantastic chance of winning it..... Just need a helping hand to qualify from Chelsea.

I didn't want it previously but now I do knowing Jose will be going all out to win it, it's probably gonna be the easiest competition to win despite the number of games (assuming it keeps the same format)

We have plenty of favourable outs to make it. Liverpool to beat Chelsea on the day they lift the title so you’d hope they’ll be banging up for it, Chelsea needing a result against Wolves and us facing a Crystal Palace team with defensive frailties (no Van Aanholt, Cahill and probably Sakho) and if Alli of that fails a way out with Chelsea being bookies favourites in the final.

Let’s be honest, after the Sheffield United and Bournemouth matches we’d have probably taken this scenario so let’s see how the boys do and if the requirements for all things required go our way.

As long as we beat Palace on the last day ill be happy with our progression since the restart.
If it's not enough we will just have to accept that our form at the start and then just approaching lockdown (with all the injuries), will have cost us European football.
If we win at Palace- To have won 6 drew 2 and lost 1 from the fixtures we had left I dont think we could have expected more.

I’m not that fussed about Europa League but would prefer to be in it that not.

I most certainly am fussed about the prospect of finishing 7th, Arsenal finishing below us in the league then winning the FA cup and snatching the place. There doesn’t seem to be much fear on here about this, which I find odd, so am I wrong that would happen? Please tell me I am.

I understand it’s not Chelsea/Champions League stuff of 2012. But try telling that to all the Arsenal supporters I endure on a daily basis. Not only would they have added another trophy more than us, they would have also stolen a European place from us. That’s Arsenal I’m talking about. You know, them lot down the road that we have a friendly little rivalry with.

My life would be hell.

Suck it up. You want positivity go and join a new age manifestation seminar.

The only time that the fans need to be 'mentally tough' is in the stadium urging the team on. This is an Internet forum; we have a choice here.

Go ahead, wallow in self pity if it makes you feel better.

What happens if United or Wolves win the Europa League and get CL football, does the PL get another spot?

Liverpool and City will be 1 and 2 next year. Man U and Chelsea are heading in the right direction and will improve further next season, with Chelsea having bought well.

Actually think it will be far easier to qualify for the champions league by winning the europa than by finishing in the top 4.

Even so, if given the choice I would much rather qualify by actually winning something than by getting to 4th spot. Total no brainer if you ask me.

PS - i couldn't give a monkeys whether we shithouse our way to that trophy with with < 20% possession in every game either.

I disagree with most your points. I don't like Jose but I think he will get us top four next season. Our team is better than I thought it was, not to far off when we got 86 points in 2017. We need some key positions strengthening but when that is done I am sure we will see a lot more of the ball and better football. The problem Jose has is we did not strengthen our squad when we were at the top, this was not Poch's fault.

and I disagree with most of your points other than not strengthening when we were at the top, with is inarguable in my opinion

Who came fifth in a four horse race, Leicester, Leicester
Who came fifth in a four horse race, Leicester fucking City.

Who are the “bottle jobs” now

Come on, be fair. Before lockdown they were fighting city for second and all the chat was about who would get 4th and 5th (Chelsea, man utd, us, wolves et Al). They were nailed on for the top 3. So technically, they are likely to come 5th in a three horse race. Wouldn't want to do them out of a proper chant.

Edit:just checked the league table, fingers crossed ?

Guaranteed top 7. Now a case of whether we can get a result and if Chelsea can do us a favour out of their last two games!
