Not really as long as Chelsea need to win on Sunday is all that really matters as far as 6th is concerned.
yeh but if Man U dont win then maybe Chelsea will play a weakened team Sunday as top 4 much much more likely with Leicester playing them final game

All this talk about Traore is warranted as he is a fantastic player . My only doubt about him makes me think of another player with a similar
build namely Michael Thomas who I always thought he was too muscle bound to be a great player and not because of him being muscle bound but to do with the problems such a build brings to a game that to a large extent relies on athleticism and any player with such a build would always have problems with pulls and tears on the muscles . And so it proved that Thomas came on the scene and earned a move to Man City but his time at the top was fleeting because of his build causing constant muscle injuries I feel Traore may suffer the same fate .
Pure speculation I know but it is my opinion and I am sticking with it .
I dont know of any sort where such a build would really help you as in most sports you need to be supple except maybe bodybuilding if it can be called a sport I repeat pure speculation .

Arsenal want to win the cup and for us to finish 7th to knock us out of Europe, we are desperate for that not to happen - goes to show how much stock we put into this rivalry because no one gave a fuck about the Europa League not so long ago.

If we end up 7th without Europa we should just hire Redknapp and be happy with it.

I prefer EL to no EL, but really not a big deal for me. I think we got a better shot at making something happen in the league next year with the EL. And I'm not only talking about another top 4, but a proper run at things. It won't matter if Liverpool or City go on another 100 points season, but if Liverpool regresses some (which they will) and City continue around 80 points then we could be right in it. And less games would then help.

Probably slightly too optimistic, but not completely outside the realm of possibility.

Unless I've read the table wrong they will still need to get at least a point on Sunday regardless of United's result tonight. He'll of a risk not to go full strength when CL qualification is on the line. Of course that's dependant on pool getting something off them tonight.

agreed but if united lose tonight if either leicester or man u win on the final day chelsea already have enough points
if chelsea get a point tonight and united fail to win they have got enough points

Even if Chelsea win I still expect them to fight for it in the last game. A lot of players would want to play a good game to show Lampard that they should start in the cup final.

Obviously a risk that they will have a bit of a disjointed team for that game, but I don't think that is the most likely outcome.

It would surprise me if Wolverhampton get more than a point from that game, but even if Chelsea need to get something Wolverhampton could still obviously win it.

Momentum is important in football and you often see teams who finish the season well continue that form into the new season.

The same applies to poor form and Liverpool are in danger of losing the momentum they had which made them seem invincible.

If we win on Sunday then I think our players will feel pretty good going into next season.

Definitely. A win is more important than where we end up. We could end up on top of the form table (last 6) with a win this weekend. Not that I believe it is a huge thing, but it can't hurt when Mourinho tries to continue instilling his ideas.

There is no doubt in my mind that one of the reasons why he used to be so extremely successful was that players bought into his ideas 100%. Slowly it seems like this team is as well. Wins help in that regard. Just look at how the perception around OGS changed when he started winning. If Mourinho can go into the break with the media and players thinking he might be on to something than this will hopefully become a self fulfilling prophecy kind of thing.

I want Europa League, I will never turn my nose up on a European competition. It would be far weirder to not see Tottenham in either CL or El than to be back in the Thursday night club. At its best, EL can offer some moderately interesting opponents, some very good away trips after the group stage (if fans are allowed back into the stadiums), a fairly prestigious trophy and a possible path into CL. I fail to see how all of that is not a good thing.

I’m quietly confident that we will with another clean sheet

Also, it means more games to watch. Which ultimately is the reason we support the club isn't it?
