King’s contract apparently expires in less than 12 months. So would imagine that he would not be very expensive either.

Think we could do a lot worse than either Wilson or King as back-up CF.
He’ll be £30m + I reckon. Man U tried to get him in January and they’ll likely try again and therefore drive the price up.

If £50m-£60m is our budget and with gaping areas that need focus, most notably at DM, RB & CB, Wilson for £10m is a no brainier surely.

Chuck £20m towards Höjbjerg, £15m towards Kim, £15m on RB, preferably Castagne or Aarons if the club has genuinely seen enough in him to invest in and that’s a sensible and sound window given the pandemic situation mixed with not qualifying for the Champions League.

I can tell think of many more proven goal scorers happy to play the squad game at £10m than Wilson so honestly what’s the hassle people that aren’t keen on him? Ship him in, it gives us depth, options and more balance,
We need a solid window, where the gaps are filled with the right players. We’re not getting anywhere near a league title for some time but if Mourinho can make us more solid and harder to beat, we can fight for a top four finish and maybe some silverware

I’m not entirely sure he’s the type of striker we need. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’d do a job, but we need someone that can be a target man imo, someone we can bring on and allow us to hold up the ball and stop teams dominating us. We’ve got limited funds and I can’t see us buying two strikers.

Kane can do that though

I agree on the title part just because of how far we really are off of Liverpool/Man City, and we are right there in the conversation as the 3rd best side, if this current form under Mourinho continues. As you said, a solid window can go a long way in stabilizing our squad, protecting it a tad over the course of a season (Wilson to protect us if Kane goes down again with an injury), and with some smart additions (Hojbjerg as the tip of our inverted Pyramid in midfield), we could feasibly see an even better returns in terms of points.

I miss peak Defoe.

To an extent, he’s decent enough in the air, but he’s not what I would call a target man. Plus we don’t want to have to play Kane every single minute of every single game.

We tried that in Llorente and Janssen but they struggled massively as that was all they could do. They were limited. We’re lucky that Kane can do that AND have such a creative aspect to his game. We aren’t gonna get a like for like replacement for him so I think we’ll be best getting someone who can work alongside Son and Alli rather than throwing them up front

Why do we need a "target man"?

Really excited by this signing. He’s a proven premiership player Who can score goals. We have to protect Kane and make sure he isn’t expected to play 90 minutes for 50+ matches in a season. This guy is a perfect replacement

How much of that was due to them, and how much of it was due to Poch’s stubbornness and refusal to adapt tactically. I remember tonnes of games where we bought Llorente on and carried on playing tippy tappy football while failing to break down teams. We never really played to their strengths.

Wilson has had a really poor season according to several of my Bournemouth season ticket holding mates. Since he signed his newly improved contract he hasn't been the same player. Lack of goals despite numerous chances and hiding in games, not putting in a shift etc.

Would be a very good Europa League striker too if Parrot does leave on loan.

Would probs score bucket loads in the group stages at least. No brainer for me.

If people want a battering ram who doesn't score goals then pay £5m for Troy.

Personally I feel Wilson still has a higher ceiling

Or someone who gave him 7 assists season before didn't repeat this next season...
