Selling Dele should be first on the list of players out. He's been so so poor for SO long now and we still may have a chance of getting £50 Mill + for him. Thanks for the memories, Dele but your attitude and effort stinks.

Care to elaborate with some examples to back up his attitude stinking? Care to elaborate with some data showing he doesn't put in effort.

Now I'm not one to staunchly call out a fellow Spurs Community member but when it comes to that statement I think you're full of shit and won't be able to back up that statement.

Only my opinion, mate. Watching him every time he has played this season, his effort 'put in' as been so below par, it has been shocking. If you don't put in the effort, then the the attitude is obviously not right, is it.

Yeah and im saying back your opinion up with evidence to support it. Otherwise it looks to me like you've plucked some cliches out the sky to justify your dislike of him. If you don't rate him fine, that's your opinion but I'm very very confident you'll never be able to back up this idea of him showing lack of effort and a poor attituds.

... the moment the penny drops that you are now ‘old’ and no longer cool.

To be fair I’d rather be old and uncool than dressing like those two!:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Ankle-less socks or socks with shorts at ALL times!

Dele hasn't even hit his "prime years" yet, he'd still be consider a great young signing if he wasn't with us for the last five seasons and we were looking at him on another side. He's always going to be a player that can be frustrating at times because he tries what others don't and I think every team needs a bit of that.

Think he'll have a great season next year rotating with Lo Celso as the attacking option in the midfield 3.

I think with Dele it's a classic example of people's expectations being the issue. Because his rise was so dramatic at such a young age people thought he was going to be a top 5 type player. Clearly he has settled into a lower category but still a very good player.

Strange thing is with Dele as well is I’m sure for Milton Keynes Dons he played a little deeper yet was still scoring the goals (rather than more advanced as he has tended to do with us).

I also remember when we dominating Man Cit’s and beat them 4-0 him and Dier were the two sitting midfielders in a 4-2-3-1 and Dembele wasn’t on pitch so can’t even say he helped with ball retention.

Confidence and physical / mental well-being play a massive part and I think Dele has a lot more he can show, but he is in a slump at moment and if we were to pick a team he shouldn’t be a starting.

However, he should be a bench option and given opportunity through being subbed on with a decent amount of time to go and also squad rotation with league cup and Europa to be given a chance to play himself back into favour.

But he does need to lose the socks. They should be taken from him, by force of necessary. Preferably by Dier.

Dele like many others benefitted massively from Eriksen & Dembele. Dembele constantly dragged defenders out of position to get the ball to the forwards and Eriksen could put the ball on a dime to Dele.

Not sure about Dembele, but Toby as well.

Anyone who would get the ball up quickly for him to run onto.
Now players hold onto the ball too long, and cm just can't do anything.

I think we would see more from Dele, Son, Moura and Bergwijn if we can get better passers in cm and fullbacks.

Which is why I don't think it's smart to write Dele off because if we get Lo Celso and Ndombele firing then Dele will benefit massively especially with regards to tanguys passing.

Eriksen checked out the last 12-18months so he gets a lot of stick, but we havent replaced his vision + passing ability (nor do I think it would be easy to, thats how good it was), and dele was there with the run, first touch and finish to capitalise a lot of the time.

You are grasping big time. Just admit you hate him and we can move on.
Ha :)

Actually I have always been highly impressed by the way he comes across in interviews and his professionalism in general (give or take the odd silly prank) but channels his mean streak into winning on the pitch. So many footballers of his age are absolute morons

He's just gone a bit crap. Let's hope he de-crapifies himself ASAP

So you’re saying this site is right to overwhelmingly slag off one of our shining lights during our best period in recent history while making every excuse in the book for a guy who has done nothing and appears to be angling for a way out?

Gotcha
Do people really hate him though? He's just been so below par for so so long

Nobody hates him imo, its just a stick some fans use to beat others with in order to prove how much of an user fan they are. Some of them appear to believe that they are the arbiter of what a "proper" fan is

The state of dele . Badly off form for two seasons constant injuries , looking like a clown in the press . Roy Keane would have head butted a player like this in training

I don't understand this mentality. During Roy Keane's era most players were borderline alcoholics, Keane has even admitting that himself. Hardly comparable to a Dele being snapped in garish clothing.

Or alternatively it was said as a joke and some users still get defensive
