Ya think N'Dombele has a bad attitude?! This fella is a complete Ballroot altogether.

No thanks. not today, not ever.

We need winners in this squad, Costa is a winner. Even Llorente who is a big downgrade on Costa, showed that with his experience he could deliver something at vital moments (Man city away, dortmund), same with Giroud at Chelsea. The winners experience, pedigree and mindset, of a Costa, or cavani or Higuain, is so much better that Wilson, who has hit double figures ONCE in the top flight and is 28. Imagine wanting Wilson over a star-like Costa, albeit his not been in great form, but I wouldn't write him off, especially as a back-up.

Won't happen.

The last thing Mourinho will actually want to do is to bring in the exact players that have cause him career problems in the past.

Well, it's his own funeral if he does, but I reckon the media are well off with this. I don't think these types of player as his "type" for this project.
Costa and Mourinho never had an issue. They have a good relationship by all accounts. It was Conte that Costa had a big falling out with.

Also worth noting that Costa’s agent is Jorge Mendes so wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he’s been offered.

Lot of concerns about this one. Would he be happy being a backup? Is he even any good still?

Yes he is the ultimate shithouse but would he not rock the boat if he was unhappy? Seems too risky even if true.

Would prefer Suarez all day if we are in for an expensive ageing option.

Totally agreed, I would love a striker that can push and play with Kane, but given the fact that last season we didn't even have a back up, I'd be fine with that!

I'm also taking into consideration a tighter budget

Lol that article doesn't even say that we've made an approach or even that we're interested. It just says that we're looking for a striker, Jose and him are close, and Atletico Madrid have made him available, and tenuously linked those three facts together. They've put 2, 2, and 2 together and got 47.

Was thinking about this earlier but wasn’t sure where to put this...

Costa, Suarez, Cavani, and Higuain all available (not saying affordable, just available). Of those four (not other potential targets, just those four) who would be your preference?

I'm not against signing him due to his past or personality. A 80% Costa would probably be good for us. I just fear he's far more finished than that he only score a couple of goals a season recently.

People think Suarez is past it, but he actually scored 21 times last season (36 games), and would probably still do a job if played to his strengths - having runners around him.

If it had been 42 I’d have loved that. Would pour a couple of Pan Galactic Gargleblasters and stick some Disaster Area on the stereo to celebrate.

Suarez has lost some pace but his finishing is excellent. Whereas Costa has been poor for A Madrid.

I know it's probably not possible with the wage structure we have but imagine this team if we continue with the 442

Kane. Suarez
Son. Lo Celso. Hoj. Lucas
BD. Dier. TA. Doherty
Lloris

Oh shit I just realized I would never be a good coach because damn we would concede a million goals lol

It wouldn't be the end of the world if we signed him, despite his poor form and attitude; I think Mourinho would be able to get a tune from him.

But honestly, on paper someone like (and don't laugh!) Troy Deeney would be a safer bet. Basically, someone who has been playing PL football for the last 3 seasons, scoring more goals, wouldn't cause trouble, would be cheaper and still has a nasty edge to him. Plus he already lives in and around London.

Our other signings so far have been playing PL football last season (I include Doherty), so the likes of Deeney, Wilson, king, etc, are more sensible choices tbh.

EDIT Deeney and Wilson are HG too, if that's an issue btw

Does it worry anyone that the first things people seem to see about him is " he's a nasty ****" rather than "he's still a great player and would score a lot of goals in our side" ? ....

1 year left on his contract. I'd take him on a year loan. Has gotten less playtime for At. Madrid over the past seasons and is probably eager to move on and reunite with Jose

I cant believe I'm saying this as both won't happen but suarez over Costa.

He can play wide, on his own uptop or with kane.

Costa can only do one of those i think.
