I’d prefer getting someone like Watkins, King, Milik etc who are all younger and with something to prove. I have no issue with older players but I kinda get the impression this guy has achieved what he’s going to in his career already and is just gonna be chasing a final few pay cheques. Could be completely wrong of course and he’s certainly better than nothing.

3 pages and no one has bothered to consider the fact that he's on £280k at Atletico.

He's not going to take a 50% pay cut, which is the absolute most I'd imagine we'd be looking to pay a back-up striker. I'd rather buy someone who we could reliably play alongside Kane as well as instead of him, that isn't Costa.

I cant believe I'm saying this as both won't happen but suarez over Costa.

He can play wide, on his own uptop or with kane.

Costa can only do one of those i think.
Agree.
Costas form seems to have fallen off a cliff.
And whilst he’s the ultimate Shithouse, I don’t want him playing for us.
Suarez (still a weapons grade shithouse btw) actually offers more on the pitch.

Genuine question. Have we been linked with Suarez?

Not against it but not for it either. I think wages would def be an issue. Agree he can really only play up top fine when starting Europa or Cup matches but don’t think he could play with Kane. He’s not a hold up striker (see Llorente) that our wingers and midfielders can play off of.

No probably not, but imo if we get him on a season loan, we're ably to pay that fee.
As someone stated, he's not getting any younger and to go and sign him on a longer contract is bonkers.

Didn’t he fall out with Jose because he was on the bench? Was that at the Lane?

I know it's a pointless comparison because neither is likely to happen buuuuuuuut...........

For me, Costa over Suarez every day of the week, the month and the whole bloody year.

Costa gets under your skin for many reasons, all the dirty tricks, his moodyness, hell just his face, but that Suarez takes it all to another level. The blatant diving and overreactions to challenges plus his use of opponents as on field snacks not to mention the Evra affair. I haven't disliked a player so much since that El Hadji Diouf bloke. No thanks.

All the comments about Costa and his winning mentality make me favour him. He is a grade a shit house that defenders hate to play against. If nothing else he would make space and distract defenders enough for others to thrive. Plus it would be funny if he scores against Villa and gets into a fight with Terry.

It’s as if Jose, in a transfer committee meeting said ”we need a shithouse up front” and levy’s google search brought these two as the first couple of results.

If it was about someone coming off the bench ala Llorente last 20 mins and making an impact I'd say Costa could be useful. But with the amount of games this season we need someone to take the load off Harry and actually start matches. That's not Costa.

Costa wins game, as AC alludes to in his post, his whole demeanour rattles defences and midfields, we’ve been on the receiving end on many occasions.

mind you saurez Does as well, but it’s a pointless discussion as we won’t get either ?

NO - he has been off form for 3 seasons now. Whats the point in brining him, if he is not scoring + comes with a baggage of being a troublemaker/nuisance.
