Maybe I just overrate our players and manager but I don’t look at our squad and worry about us scoring goals.
I guess i'm just being somewhat pessimistic basing my post on what happened under Jose last season which was of course without a pre-season and without a fully fit squad, I just worry about how we might score against deep blocks and when we are invited to have most of the ball like against Bournemouth.

My hunch is we’d get Skrinar in for 50k a week less than Ndom, plus Foyth/Aurier outgoings leaves us ~150k a week and around 25-30m to play with. In this market, you’d hope we could go and find a “creative” player with that kind of money to use.

That’s presuming we do a flat trade and don’t convince Inter to pay-up a bit, which Levy may pull-off as Conte doesn’t fancy Skrinar in his back 3 for some reason... Skrinar/Sanchez has all the hallmarks of a Jose pace/power combo for a few years to come. I’d be buzzing.

Jose doesn't rate sanchez if i am not wrong and he is big dier fan

I actually think a swap for Depay makes more sense than Skriniar.

Depay takes care of our back up striker problem, but can also play in any of the 3 places behind the striker in a 4231.

I guess NDombele's wages would be a problem. But regardless, it makes way more sense to me for us to swap him for a striker, than a CB. It's going to be difficult to find a decent striker to be back up or competition for Kane. I think we are much better off buying a forward who can play multiple positions, including striker.

Depay with 1 year contract is worth 20-30m and Ndombele is still worth 2-3x more

Headlines from Gazetta sport today :

I cant find the actual article yet. The headlines translation seems to be : Technician Conte dictates the inter market line. He is dealing with exchange Skriniar Ndombele, tightens for Vidal Kolorav

View attachment 72508

Found the article - Its pretty detailed on what Inter is planning to do.

Thanks to Google Translate, following is the synopsis of the article

  1. Inter are putting 8 players for sale
  2. Bring back Perisic from Bayern loan and look for 15m with his sale. Sell Brozovic for 30m. Sell Dalbert,Nainggolan, Vecino, Joao Mario Godin. Use these cash to bring Kante. Conte wants Kante and Chelsea are quoting 50m for him. My Opinion: If Inter buy Kante, Chelsea might use it for Rice.
  3. Quoted the Perfect Exchange : Skriniar for Ndombele is strong possibility: Skriniar boasts many admirers around Europe and if José Mourinho decides to turn the interest into concrete negotiations, Inter would then aim to make the most of the sale of the Slovak. Meeting in London did not go as everyone expected and now Ndombélé is a jewel with a suitcase ready. A chess match seems to be taking place between Tottenham and Inter: no one wants to take the first step, but everyone knows that an exchange would make coaches and balance sheets happy.
If I read the comments from Inter fans, they are not happy at with Conte and the decisions at club to sell as much as 8. They feel Skriniar should not be sold at all, just because Conte doesnt want him for his style. Also, they aren't happy with Eriksen. Ndombele no comment-think they will take to him if they sign him.

Overall, it seems Inter is the one pushing Skriniar to us as a swap. And Jose/Levy isnt playing ball yet. But if we want to get rid of Ndombele, Inter is the most likeliest destination. Gut feeling is there will be solution and moves will happen

If we do a perfect swap as indicated above in Gazzetta - it might look too much. But Skriniar is on 30k a week, Ndombele is on 200k a week for 6 years. Even by tripling Skriniar wages, we will save 5m a year. We could save 30m just on wages alone if we agree a straight swap. Question really is, is Jose convinced of Skriniar.

Must admit, my sense of humour wants to see TN go to Inter...
How’s he gonna react to Conte going apocalyptic at him for not tracking a midfield runner :)

If we do end up sending him to Inter and getting a player or two in return, I wouldn't mind one of them being Perisic. A Son, Kane and Perisic forward line would be immense for a couple of years.

Ndombele to Inter, we get Perisic, Brozovic and £5m and we've got a deal, imo.

Can’t wait for Perisic to retire so we can stop being linked to him, would’ve been good a few years ago but he’s 31 now and would much rather play Bergwijn

Based on those prices, surely Ndombele for Brozovic and Perisic works for everyone?! I wouldn't have thought it would even alter the two clubs' wage bills all that much.
