Enic, jose, amazon out!. We are going to get relegated. Cirkin will never make it as a professional footballer. And so on...

Auruer Sanchez Vickers

That is 3 liabilties in defence right there plus a 17 year old kid

No wonder we are 2 down
Vickers has been okay, Aurier has not had the worst of games, Cerkin was decent until he gave away the pen, Sanchez was doing alrite

I can't be the only one that thinks we would be miles better with a creative 10 that can actually shoot and pass instead of Dele? Lots of effort and running around but so little in terms of output.

I believe you are the first person to be critical of Dele in a match thread actually.

CCV has been our best player if you ask me. Winning everything in the air and good on the ground. Ive seen no issues with his positioning either. I'm not an Aurier fan but what has either him or Sanchez done wrong? Its the defending down the left side which has done us and its a good lesson for young Cirkin who I rate.

We need to sign a creative attacking midfielder or we won't achieve anything this season. Really is that simple.

Although he gives it his all every game, Im tired of watching Lamela cut in the from the right and take a touch too many.

“Early days but I’m going to slam him anyway.”
How is it slamming him by identifying a weakness in a players game? It’s 100% clear he was at fault for those two goals. If Foyth or Aurier did that, all hell would break loose, but the fact it’s a player that 99.9% of our fans have never seen play any prior to these friendlies you’re the worst in the world when you ovbserve and have an opinion on a youth player

The thing with Ndombele, he is magical on the ball, absolutely world class. his vision, weight of pass, control of the ball. But without it, he is quite possibly one of the worst players i've ever seen. He's similar to Jan Molby.

He won't make it as a CM in the Premier League, there are always so many saying he's just back from an injury, he's just getting over Coronavirus (if it was that bad he wouldn't be playing), fundamentally he is yet to play one game in our shirt where he is energised and mobile. Without the ball, he defensively adds nothing, doesn't keep with runners, players can glide past him, maybe in Italy and slower tempo he would kill it as a CM, but i think it's so clear to see he will struggle with the pace of the game here. This is a 50m plus player, i'm yet to see him dominant a midfield like Modric or Dembele, he doesn't come close.

But, i'm not saying he doesn't have his uses. I think he would be a world beater in the Dele position, a 3 man CM with him in front of the 2 CMs. If he stays with us, that is the only position he can really play. His strengths would be scary in the final third. He's a very limited player in that you essentially have one position he can play (in the Premier League), but he could be one of the best in the world in that position. The issue is, Jose will never play him there and for me, i think his future lies elsewhere which is unfortunate because boy does he have some scary ability with the ball at his feet.

Lucas too. We'll be a much more cohesive attacking unit if Bergwijn can cement his place in the team over those two.

I’d say that - at most - there are 4 players in that starting XI who will start next week (Sanchez, Lucas, Son, Dele). There are probably only 2 (Son + Dele). I’m surprised people are watching it but even more surprised that some of you seem to be getting stressed over the performance. You could be watching Walsall v Sheff Wednesday on SkySports right now and literally be getting just as much indication of how we’ll fare in a game that matters.

If you feel so inclined to read anything into this performance then look at the positive - it’ll give those 4 potential starters a timely kick up the arse before Everton.

Is that commentator Watford biased or what? He's got a Danny Murphy voice, took me a while to realize it cant be Murphy.

We need to sign a creative attacking midfielder or we won't achieve anything this season. Really is that simple.

We spent over £100,000,000 in transfer fees alone on two players to do that job just last summer. This isn't Manchester City; we can't just dump £50m on yet another who may or may not work and ignore the ones we have. We luckily have a world-class manager and it's his job to, well, manage and to make the most of what we've got. Thankfully he already showed good signs of doing that last season, and we can hardly judge on a pre-season friendly with one of those players as well as half our first XI off on international duty.
