If I never see Lamela drag his foot over the ball again it’ll be too soon.
the problem with lamela is like sissoko hes all effort and people cut him slack for it but he has no end product, looks flash and is busy but never knows when to give the ball at the right time and plays with his head down too often

I really like Foyth (although i doubt he has a future here), but I dont think I've ever seen a player give the ball away more often in the space of 20 minutes.

The thing with Ndombele, he is magical on the ball, absolutely world class. his vision, weight of pass, control of the ball. But without it, he is quite possibly one of the worst players i've ever seen. He's similar to Jan Molby.

He won't make it as a CM in the Premier League, there are always so many saying he's just back from an injury, he's just getting over Coronavirus (if it was that bad he wouldn't be playing), fundamentally he is yet to play one game in our shirt where he is energised and mobile. Without the ball, he defensively adds nothing, doesn't keep with runners, players can glide past him, maybe in Italy and slower tempo he would kill it as a CM, but i think it's so clear to see he will struggle with the pace of the game here. This is a 50m plus player, i'm yet to see him dominant a midfield like Modric or Dembele, he doesn't come close.

But, i'm not saying he doesn't have his uses. I think he would be a world beater in the Dele position, a 3 man CM with him in front of the 2 CMs. If he stays with us, that is the only position he can really play. His strengths would be scary in the final third. He's a very limited player in that you essentially have one position he can play (in the Premier League), but he could be one of the best in the world in that position. The issue is, Jose will never play him there and for me, i think his future lies elsewhere which is unfortunate because boy does he have some scary ability with the ball at his feet.

I do wonder what his team mates think of him.

Literally the crux of our entire problem for a few years now has been an inability to get rid of players we don't want who are stuck on high wages

most of those guys not Young and homegrown. We’ve had no issues shifting homegrown. And we could have blown them out of the water with 25 or 30k. We’re not talking about hundreds of thousands.

I know its a friendly but think this match again shows our weaknesses from last season when certain players aren't playing:
-Attacks focused down the right and not enough creativity or quality from Aurier or Lucas/Lamela going forward.
-CM area is weak
-Lack concentration in defence
-We lack a real threat when Son has to play up front as it weakens our midfield.

Can't wait for Doherty and Hoyjberg and hopefully a new striker and winger to regularly play in our best XI.
We could also do with a quality creative CM as Ndombele can't be relied upon.
