If he isn't our first-choice acquisition for a striker because we are lining up a better prospect (ability-wise), who are we signing that's affordable??

I'm not going to believe we've found a better prospect ability wise until I hear the name.
The only other alternatives I can think of, but probably just as expensive as Daka, would be Malen (PSV), Edouard (Celtic).
My guess is it'll be that Rafael Leao from Milan. Portuguese, 21 years old, 6ft 2 and pretty sure Mendes is his agent.
He certainly isn't bad, not as big of a prospect as someone like Daka though - but he'd probably be affordable.
Only slight problem with this shout, is I can't tell if he's more of a winger these days or striker that likes to drift wide.
...also showcases excellent injury picking-up ability

It means either pay the full asking price or that's exactly what we'll do (RB) it's an easy business model for sure.I find it hard to believe he would rather stay in Austria than play in the prem. probably more likely Salzburg will ship him off to Liepzig with the hope to inflate his fee and demand 70m+ in a couple seasons time.

Could also be Myron Boadu. Being scouted by all the top clubs apparently, especially since he scored on debut for the Dutch national team last year. He's super quick.

Probably because you know if you wait it put a bigger club with better wages will come in?Don't get me wrong, the skiing is fun, but if you're a pro footballer why the hell would anyone want to stay in Austria? Not sure I buy that
