Looking forward for the excuses from Mourinho;

- upcoming fixture schedule.
- position of freekick
- won’t acknowledge any negatives in his approach.

Nope - as I say, it's the first game. Getting a kick in the face is a good dose of reality for some of these players, and it'll hopefully force the clubs hand with transfers (e.g. GB). Plenty of positives if you look beyond one scruffy game.

I fear you may be delusional on both fronts.

We've seen plenty of turd performances from this lot, before today's bucket of sick, and if anything they look even less fucked than last season.

And our chairman's certainly not one to let a single game affect his thinking regarding the expenditure of money. He's had his hand forced much harder before and he forced it back in his pocket even harder than that.

How can a squad with supposedly such great chemistry and cohesion go out and play like that? It makes no sense. Looked like a team of strangers. Everton's midfield was literally formed this summer and they looked like they'd been playing together for years compared to us.

Not surprised we lost, Everton have some players superior to ours (especially midfielder wise), Digne, Gomez, Allan, Deacoure, Rodriguez. Ancelotti did a number on Jose tatically as well

We were absolute shit today, no passion or determination, Kane was way below par. It is going to take a hell load of wo0k to get these mugs going. We need another striker, like yesterday. Everton were miles better than us.

I dipped in and out of the game but any thoughts why Dele was subbed so early?

Also, Hojbjerg looks fine to me, he just needs a more progressively minded midfielder next to him. What I did see was mostly bollocks though- it’s both depressing and perversely comforting to know that only our club could break Mourinho completely

There literally isn't a single positive to take out of that match. 1-14 we were awful. I'm so insanely disappointed with Hojbjerg, I desperately hope it was a bad game and that he isn't a bad signing.

In fact I think the only positive is that Everton weren't nearly as good as the commentators made them sound. They literally didn't have to do anything, just turned up and won.

First time in 13 years Everton have won away at top 6. Have to break it to them that we aren’t a top 6 side - not in this league anyway.

What a start. Absolute shambles. Had the same feeling vs Newcastle last season. This whole team/squad/ownership is beyond saving.

Ive felt that the only way was down after we went a few windows without signings and sacked poch. Akin to barcelona with Messi we wasted peak Kane. Poch wasn't the problem. When you capture lightening in a bottle like us or Leicester did a few years ago you have you win there and then or lose your best players or lose momentum once other teams figure you out.

Look at what Chelsea did this window ...... we are playing a different sport to these guys. No team from the big 6 would take winks or sissoko off us. Thats a fact

This squad isn’t as bad as that performance. The tactics are fucking shit and either Jose does a complete 180 on our style of play or he goes.

This has been a really half arsed performance. Zero effort from pretty much everyone. Totally unacceptable.
More like a first game syndrome where the mentality from some of the guys are still so scared and fucking weak.

Running all day long is useless. Lucas and Winks should have been culled at halftime. We need the fighting mentality and Lamela should have been on. Maybe even Aurier. Sissoko and Tanguy were wrong subs.

After the game in the dressing room "don't worry lads, we're getting a second season on Amazon prime, and we've signed Alex Morgan"

We were this shit under Poch. Don’t think we can blame the managers for much longer. Squad needs a major refresh.
I agree with you, but i think we should blame the manager also. I am not saying because of today, but the mentality displayed so far is something i dont want for this club. The moment that Sissoko came in for Dele AT HOME was like a slap in my face. SO DEFENSIVE against a team that is our level.
