If i was Kane I would definitely think about leaving. He could play for City and get a dozen chances a game, instead he has to play for us who can't even get the ball to him.

Lets see what happens next weekend. This team has got shocking results in them every season but they usually manage to turn it around with a bit of form. No point in knee jerk reactions after 1 game.

The fact that so many of the players from out best seasons under Poch are still here when they are in decline is a massive failure of Levy and the squad management that is needed to keep the team fresh.

Aside from a very unlikely deal for Bale we are not going to be improving on this starting 11. With Lo Celso injured and Ndombele unfit to start, this is as good as it gets this season. That is very worrying on the basis of this completely unacceptable performance.

2nd to every ball, closing down from preseason disappeared, and Kane letting the ball roll out for a corner just about summed up what a fucking piss poor performance that was

The squad is actually pretty good, the thing that needs to change is Jose’s approach to games. The fact that he’s still starting Winks, Lucas and Dele in the same lineup is depressing.

They adressed their weakness and bought James, Allan and Doucoure. We’re still left with Winks, Sissoko, Gedson...
Everton didn't get the memo regarding you are not allowed to spend because of covid, seems we have been hoodwinked again piss poor performance from a team and club that have nothing to offer.

The players just aren't playing for each other. They can barely string more than 3 passes together before losing it. It's the same problems since the tail end of Poch's time.

I don't know, I just can't see things getting better until a lot of this squad have been moved on. As much as it hurts to say it, that includes the likes of Ali and Kane.
You wanna move Kane on??

Beaten by the better team, with better players and a better manager. I'm pleased we only lost 0-1. Good result really, let's face it we are a mid-table team at heart that has a little flutter here and there.

To be fair, pre-season has been shocking. Lots of kids used in all of our friendlies, especially in midfield.

That said, I have no faith in Lucas, Sissoko, Winks, Lamela and Bergwyn. They are not top four standard.

Question:
You start the game with six defensive players. The most creative of the others has to go off at half time. You have Bergwijn, Ndombele and Lamela on the bench. Who do you bring on?
Answer:
Moussa Sissoko. Obviously.

No obvious paln of how to attack.
No organised pressing of the ball.
No service to Kane.
No creativity.
No goals.
No points.
No fucking idea.

Tanguy Ndombele. Misplaced a few passes and was playing (instructed to?) too deep. But he brought energy and was at least looking for, and able, to play a forward pass.
Has. To. Play.

How good would James or Allan been for us?

Unfortunately both out of our price range! Dont worry though as we are going to sign one of two strikers at bargain basement. Which lets be honest pretty much 95% of people on here have known nothing about or seen play up until 2 weeks ago!

Then be fed information on daily basis for next three weeks how we are going to sign Bale only for it not to happen on transfer deadline.. But we will be told not to blame old Danny boy and Steve Hitchen as they both really tried to get the deal done and they have done a great job at working really hard to get the deals complete that they have!

Alli wasn’t great, but how he was sacrificed for Sissoko when Hojbjerg and Winks were on the pitch was ridiculous.

Also, Ndombele likes to play forward passes in tight situations which requires movement between the lines from forward players - Alli is the one who does that.

just nonsensical tactically.

so strange.

I imagine Levy and Enic must sweat it now.

New stadium done worthy of champions, yet we look way off tonight. If thos goes on we'll finish midtable and Kane's off to City next year to replace Aguero.

So close and it can all so easily go away.

With all due respect to Harry with his injury record and his decline from 3-4 years ago I personally think his chance of a BIG move has been and gone.

The team was soulless. No character. Its ok to be beaten . But to roll over and have belly tickled like that?

Some players don't even need their jerseys laundered before the next game. Too cosy and cosseted. No blood sweat and tears on those shirts.

I genuinely think if we can get Lo Celso and Ndombele on the pitch at the same time, we'll have a very good midfield. But today it lacked absolutely anything.

Ndombele obviously played a few poor passes but at least he was trying to add some incision but it was too late. I have to say I thought first half our shape looked good but I felt that we would significantly improve in our forward play if you replaced winks and dele with Ndombele and Lo Celso.

Dele was part of the front 4 quartet and we needed somebody who can come a little deeper and create triangles with the midfield 2, perhaps Lamela would have been a better option.

Winks just didn't play forward quick enough. No good playing Doherty up high if you wait for the defender to get back when you win the ball.
