Same old Jose

Blaming the free kick being taken 5 ft further forward every team does this ???!!
I think the complaint actually was that Atkinson made sure to the point of obsession that one of Son's free kicks was taken from the exact spot and was slack on Everton's free kick which funnily enough was from around the same part of the pitch as Son's was.

Why wouldn't you complain. But lets go with same old Jose. It's a neat fit for what you're trying to achieve/have already decided.

Then blaming the condition of the players and their fitness?

You selected the team my friend

If you were that concerned why didn’t you play

Aurier > Doherty
Lamela
White?

There’s no excuses for shit tactics that are easy to work out! Literally teams can walk through us! Our team look scared of the ball! Also overcoached with all the freedom removed!

It’s also clear to see our medical and sports science staff are awful.

For me personally I just can’t see it working with Jose and atm he is lucky there is no fans in the stadium imagine paying to watch that?

Next in for me has to be

Rodgers
Nagelsman
Nuno
Poch
Tuchel

Wouldn’t touch Nagelsman with a barge pole after he wore that suit in the CL semis.

Yes, I am that petty.

I want to believe in Mourinho but I just can't see any if his trademarks landing with us. We can't keep a clean sheet. We don't seem to be playing with a sense of belief in the project and that crucial "the world's against us but we'll show em" drive.

Problem is we did all that under Poch. He made us defensively solid and made us tougher. We "bought in". I'm not sure we're "buying in" under Jose.

Hope I'm wrong.

Stop these atrocities and play Ndombele. Forget everything else, play him, play him again then play him some more in fact keep on playing him make him along with Kane the players you pick first.

Ndombele? Seriously?

After his first two touches people were cumming in their skivvies over him. Three touches later he was a useless **** again :D

I’m getting a bit worried as to why he continuously feels the need to play Lucas centrally as a striker (whilst having our RB push on and play like a RW). Lucas playing centrally kills our attacks and congests the middle of the pitch - how many times does it need to happen before he drops him?

I don’t know if we can blame Mourinhos tactics here. I think he wants to press high, but it doesn’t work. Even in that doc he’s giving the players instructions on pressing high. So I’m not sure. It doesn’t work well. But it didn’t under Poch in 2019 either. I have never considered Mourinho a saviour you bring in to save a team. But I still more or less consider him a rebuilder who needs cash and the right players to make great things happen. I think he’s the guy who can make a great Lego-castle if you give him the right Lego to play with. But with only the two boxes of Lego you’ve got at your play room, he’s limited..

Jose out call after one game of the season is a little premature. Performance and results disappointing and I do agree tactics weren’t very inspiring and he’s making excuses again but still think our players and squad is just not good enough atm.

He needs to re-think his ‘time off amazing tactical foresight’ and go back to 4-3-3. This lop sided shit, then replacing the RB with Sissoko (even tho Doc had a good game, and Aurier was on the bench!!??), is just nonsense. We were outnumbered in midfield, and he brings on Sissoko to wander about the right hand side of the pitch? Yeah, I’m not sure this was his greatest game. A midfield three that hasn’t played a game together, but are of a high quality, and he leaves Hojbjerg in there alone? For me, we either go 3 at the back, or 3 in midfield.

A lot of what Jose said there is true.

The internationals truly stuffed us up as Kane, Doherty, Sissoko, Hojbjerg, Lloris, Bergwijn, Toby & Dier should have been with the team all week preparing for the start of a new season.

The criticism I have of Jose today was his change at HT. Perhaps he was overly paranoid about something but I thought the shape was fine and if anything we just need to keep working on what we were doing. We were making advances at Everton and keeping them at arm's distance until that moment. No idea why he changed it.

Kane wasn't sharp today but you have to ask if he hadn't have been away until Thursday would he have been a bit sharper?

Would Doherty not have tired as much?

Would Hojbjerg have not tired and become a little ill disciplined?

A couple of easy cup games coming up where Jose needs to get them gelling, sharp and up to speed.

If we are seeing tired players and a lack of intensity by November I'll be seriously concerned, until then we need to give them time to work on it together.

This preseason has been a joke in terms of preparation.

I am sorry, that is a totally unjustifiable excuse for that performance, we had players away on Internationals.
Everton had 9 away on International duty, how come that didn't affect them to anywhere near the same extent ?
They prepared better, they outsmarted us tactically, played offensively, rather than defensively, and looked like they wanted it more, and to be honest have just as good a team as us, they are the reasons we lost, not we had players away on International duty (and forget they had as many as us away themselves)
One of their star players wasn't even an Everton player this time last week

Typical Tottenham we get a recognised champion manager probably his best day's have passed penny pinch hoping to achieve a 0 Net spend.

Fantastic stadium though.

He seems to want to play in a low block in every game and sneak it.

It can be effective as we saw last season but when we don't win its so depressing.

What crap you really spouting?
Holy fuck, people saying I am being harsh on my fellow supporters, you my friend are a dick. Salvaging the season after 1 game, fuck off u tart.

how you not seeing what he has become even the end of last season with decent results the football is so dire you could have messi and co with him the tactics he tries doesn't fit in well. the whole of the epl can see it hes a washed up manager and its not over one game its been like this for over a year including poch but i think poch would of turned it around eventually. he wanted rid of toby but he now stayed and looks a shadow of himself. he needed more time. we need a up to date manager not one who plays relies on past glories

I think his problem is looking at all of our players he's liked in the past (Dele and Dier) and believing they still have the answers.

Neither have ever been consistent, as seen in the doc and over the last few years, and I think we might need to look beyond them if he's going to win something with us. At the end of the day, they aren't Terry and Lampard.

Biggest overall issue will be that we will need a number of changes in the squad, and a certain amount of patience for them to gel.

theirs no direction in our plays the amount of times when they showed a replay of an everton attack and then it switches back to the live game all i was seeing was the ball hoofed in the air long to kane and co and getting picked up in midfield by the everton players i saw that at least 5 different times after a replay. so predictable in how we play
