I blew my top after the Burnley away game last year, I won’t ever call for him to go again because what's the point. But what is really scary is the level of 'buy in' from the players. It didn’t look like they wanted to play a.) for him or b.) in that style.

I desperately want him to be successful but as long as he thinks players like Sissoko are the answer...

He needs to re-think his ‘time off amazing tactical foresight’ and go back to 4-3-3. This lop sided shit, then replacing the RB with Sissoko (even tho Doc had a good game, and Aurier was on the bench!!??), is just nonsense. We were outnumbered in midfield, and he brings on Sissoko to wander about the right hand side of the pitch? Yeah, I’m not sure this was his greatest game. A midfield three that hasn’t played a game together, but are of a high quality, and he leaves Hojbjerg in there alone? For me, we either go 3 at the back, or 3 in midfield.
Which, unfortunately, is the exact same mistake as he made at Old Trafford before last Christmas. When he left Winks in central midfield alone as Sissoko had to cover for Aurier. Even Fred looked like a world Champion then. 9 months later the same happen, with the same result. It might actually look like he isn't a tactical mastermind (still).

That amazon doc got me soo fired up and optimistic again only to be let down massively once again. Fucking hell only Spurs....

The lack of effort was baffling.

I'll be honest. I have major concerns.

I said back last January that he'd be gone by Xmas. I'm sticking by that.

And what worries me even more is the players like Hojbjerg, Davies, Moura...these are players Jose rates and he sacrifices their ability over work rate.

We are now linked with Sorloth.

Question. What state will our squad be in if the worst happens.

Mr Levy really needs to give his head a wobble.
I think Levy also have major concerns now.

I don’t blame mourinho for that performance. That line up wasn’t stupid. The tactics weren’t even wrong. That team managed to execute the plan barely ever. First 3 mins I saw Allan get the ball and was tackled by team pressing. Whole team pressing. I saw that once! The players were pathetic. That was pathetic. We’ve seen the boring mourinho games but in those we looked organised. That game wasn’t even that.

These players got Poch fired.

Quickly forgotten.

Our centre midfield is pathetic.

ITS NOT THE MANAGERS ITS THE PLAYER RECRUITMENT.

How many more Managers before this sinks in!

I agree but when you take into consideration the type of players Jose values how is the squad going to look when the enevitable progressive manager comes back? A Levy takes 5 windows to get rid of Sorloth on a 4 year deal.

Its a strange performance.

So different from the energetic ones we put in don the buring pre season where we were pressing and chasing

But on the bright side, it is 1 game where we played like total shite and only lost by a solitary goal from free kick. Can only get better.

I'm not anti Mourinho but the hard truth is the football will be dire and he won't be here long.
Yes, I was half way positive when Mou got the job actually. But you don’t hire Mourinho without big cash ready to spend in the transfer windows. That’s like purchasing a Ferrari without affording maintenance and parts when needed.

I'd say Mourinho is already at a critical point. Next month or two is going to be huge and how he gets this group of players to respond. Going to make or break him, hopefully the former.

As others have said, he needs to play Ndombele and Lo Celso to get some much needed attacking verve into this dull side.

Someone posted a tweet in the match thread that said "tottenham players pass the ball to pass responsibility on to someone else".

This to me is the crux of everything. None of the players want to try anything on the pitch because they don't want to be the person who made a "mistake". It creates this weird atmosphere of fear.

This also shows to me why he won't start ndombele who doesn't understand that he can't try through balls.

If you are going to base your entire philosophy on counter attack you need to have the best defence. It needs to be amazing, the bed rock of your entire team. Ours just isn't. We just sit there and invite pressure.

I don't mind people having the view we're dull, it certainly wasn't total football again out there yesterday - but doesn't it have more to do with the fact that yet again the attacking 4 (+ Doherty) had chances in the opening 45 to put the game away?

We take those chances and a bit like the Burnley and Leicester games, the game opens up as teams press more and we then get more and more space ...

I think it's totally fine to be concerned about yesterdays outing but some of the 'critical point already' thinking is a bit over the top. Even I am guilty of it, but we've got a months worth of matches coming up in less two weeks.

A classic Ferrari that can't compete with the performance of modern cars.

Remember when we lost to Newcastle on the opening game back in the AVB years I think. We just shrugged and accepted it as irritating but normal for a Europa level team in which wages dictate that we'll end up between 7th and 5th most seasons.

Reminded me of that yesterday.

We're nothing special now, just reverting to type. Accepting that is key.

Only by lucking out with a new Poch era will we hit those heights again. Certainly not through on pitch investment because we ain't and we'll never be that kind of club.

I’m getting a bit worried as to why he continuously feels the need to play Lucas centrally as a striker (whilst having our RB push on and play like a RW). Lucas playing centrally kills our attacks and congests the middle of the pitch - how many times does it need to happen before he drops him?
I agree. It's very concerning.

I recall the punditry he did after our game vs Arsenal last year and he said Arsenal needed a player who could come central and look to create from there.

Well Lucas is probably the least creative player in the team, certainly the attack. Bergwijn need to be given that role and if not use Lamela, he knows that role quite well. But not Lucas.

Yet again it appears our players are getting away without much criticism. We saw these exact performances under Poch and we are still seeing them under Mourinho. Therefore, if Mourinho is as bad as everyone thinks in here then I can only assume that Poch is equally terrible and a past it coach? It can't be both Poch is great, Mou is sh*t when the players are playing the same way.

The entire blame has to go on to the players. They didn't even want to run yesterday, Dele Alli continues to think he is a world superstar and yet his first touch is always so horrendous. He needs to go back to basics. Generally as a club our recruitment has been poor, we lost Dembele and never replaced him and then we lost Eriksen and have not replaced him.

We have also been incredibly unlucky with continuous injuries to players in key positions and the fact that TN hasn't settled.

I'm not going to sit here and say that Mou is the best manager ever etc etc however people branding him rubbish and all that are purely saying it based on the brand of football. Since Mou took over he has amassed the 5th most points in the league, only 2 behind 4th place and when you think of how many games we were without Kane, Son, Lloris & GLC that is relatively impressive. We were incredibly poor yesterday there is no denying that but people calling for him to go need to realise that a) it isn't going to happen anytime soon and b) you are saying this after 1 game this season, 1 game.

I have never wanted our fan base to become so entitled that we have a manager who has the 5th best record in the league while missing key players is deemed rubbish and we deserve so so much better, and these same people still pine for Pochettino who was absolutely horrendous in his last 18 months but because they like him he is deemed as not a failure. Just doesn't add up.
