Skriniar really would elevate us but if this is really is it, we've still had an incredible window.
We have.

But losing two CBs, one a club legend and not improving that area is still abit disappointing.

But it is a area that is difficult to improve. World class CBs don't grow on trees.

Skriniar, Tottenham do not give up

In recent days, Inter director Piero Ausilio was clear: "Skriniar and Ranocchia will stay with us". However, Tottenham did not let go of the Slovak defender, strongly supported by Mourinho. With just two days left to buy a replacement, it remains difficult to imagine the white smoke

My main hope is the Foyth one being permanent now instead of a loan. Makes me think we can make up the difference now. I would expect an official bid at least given reports suggest we haven't made one yet.

bear in mind Tanganga has emerged and now we can play Ben Davies at CB so maybe Jose thinks we are covered despite Foyth

Ally Gold says we’re £13m apart(£32m to £45m). If thats the case, it really shouldnt be so difficult to get done unless we’re already at the limit our finances would allow.

I’m at the airport in Catania (have I mentioned my holibobs?) and just purchased a copy of Corriere Dello Sport, you oldies will know about that. I’ve scanned it for Skriniar exclusives.

Unfortunately I don’t sprech Italiano.

You need to sit outside a cafe James Richardson style in order to unlock its secrets.

Yeah I mean unfortunately there has to be a limit somewhere, if we signed Skriniar, the goalposts for a perfect window would move to a DM or AM.

I don't agree that Davies can play centre back. He can play left of a 3 but not in a 2. It means we could play him with wingbacks but would still need to occupy 2 more centre backs so are not any different in terms of lacking depth. For me we need one more centre back to cover Foyth.

Deadline day is going to be about Sancho's 'won't he/won't he' move to Manchester Utd. Then when he doesn't move the stories will be about how much it'll take to sign him in January. Then if that happens, preparing for the big summer transfer.
IIRC German teams have to release a list on deadline day of players who could still be transferred out, be interesting to see if Sancho is on that list

If that's correct I don't see why we can't hit 32 plus 13 in add ons.

we have, but I truly think I CB is imperative. But can see why we wouldn’t sign one of we haven’t got the money.

And as for Charlie Eccleshare. How's about...Charlie Feckindon't.

unless he has something really positive to report.

sorry yeah that’s what I meant - if we HAD to due to injuries etc, we would play differently and Davies can cover. Seems Skriniar will only happen for £45m and I just can’t see us doing that - Foyth gone or not. Unless there’s a middle ground of £35m plus add ons which are likely to happen or we give up some of the Eriksen payments, can’t see it at the moment. Hoping so!!

I want and like the rivalry with Chelsea so I don't want him because he is a Chelsea player. I hope he never wears our shirt and therein lies the problem for me and many Spurs fans.
It's not like we haven't signed any other ex Chelsea players... Greaves, Gallas, Parker etc. If you want to win things, you sign the players regardless. Think that stopped Willian to Arsenal? Cesc to Chelsea? Cech to Arsenal? They happen. 'Fans' need to accept that.

EDIT: Apologies still thinking I'm in Rudiger thread!

What if all we can afford is 20 odd million and Inter want the majority up front? It’s really not as simple as a lot of people keep making out. If we are really that far apart, then I don’t think it’s a matter of just going for broke on a transfer. I reckon for this to happen Inter are going to have to blink first.

And unlike in previous years where a club potentialling receiving the add ons couldnt feel very confident in actually seeing the criteria fulfilled, you'd think any add ons for trophy success/top 4 position would be very realistic now.

Yeah people need to grow up a bit regarding this kind of thing. If a player improves us I don’t really care who he’s played for in the past.
