Thankfully I’m well seasoned in this, I was brought up on it, with Gerry Francis regime being the baptism of fire in practicing apathy while still supporting the team, developing endurance in the Graham era, and perfecting it in the Sherwood season. The only managers that left with me still investing the energy to will a turnaround were Hoddle, Jol and Pochettino.

Self preservation baby ?
Redknapp did well too.

For anyone who is saying we can't get rid of Jose due to money etc. I was thinking along those lines after the Liverpool game.

If the justification for keeping the manager is based on financial reasons rather than footballing reasons, there is a problem.

After the NLD I am sure we were all on cloud nine and thought this would be the year we finally axhieve something. Since then we have fallen apart, I no longer feel we are building towards winning something. This is my concern with the direction we are going in.

I would go for the Wolves manager Nuno Santos. They play high intensity attacking football and are a very difficult to team to breakdown. They haven’t been the same this season but they’ve key lost players to injuries/departures.

He also made Doherty look like a competent footballer. I'm in.

Not for me. He is a very difficult man to like. Very dry personality, poor with the media, football is over rated.

We need someone uplifting and engaging.

I don't think Nuno has enough of a plan B to be honest. If that 3/5 at the back setup that he uses isn't working Wolves don't look near the same.

Looks like we'll be plodding through the rest of the season, picking up a point here and a win there, certainly not looking forward to the next few games. We're cannon fodder, easy meat for teams, we've just got to hope some teams play worse than us against us.

Good job we've got things other than football to worry about!!

Bit of a myth that one mate, Wolves play counter attacking football and rely heavily on their talisman. They are very compatible to us TBH. Santos is a no for me.

He is a wonder worker. Can't think anybody else could turn to skillful players like Lucas and Stevie into useless headless chicken running around in circles.

I do wonder if we get spanked by Chelsea, will Daniel pull the trigger?

If he does - who do we go for next? We will have many of the same problems and are still only part way through the rebuild - which may be attractive for some managers I guess?

Assuming Levy doesn’t sack Mourinho and gives him until the end of the season irregardless of if we win a trophy or finish in the top 6, we could be facing a summer where:
  1. Lloris has one year left on his contract and has had enough. Leaving us with a giant hole in goal.
  2. Reguilon is desperate to return to Real Madrid and they activate his buy back clause leaving us with Davies who isn’t even good enough to be our back up.
  3. We need a commanding, genuinely world class centre back with no money to buy one due to a poor league performance and lack of fans in the stadium.
  4. Aurier, whether you love him or hate him, has been our best right back but he’s now desperate to leave but struggles to find suitors because Jose has thrown him under a bus, and:
  5. Doherty struggles to find suitors because he’s dog shit. Leaving us with an unhappy player with a year left and an obscenely poor player completely out of his depth. Can we justifiably buy another right back in this instance?
  6. Ndombele realises he made a huge mistake and pushes for a move elsewhere
  7. Gareth Bale returns to Real Madrid with his tail between his legs
  8. Dele Alli kicks up a stink and demands a transfer
  9. Heung Min Son refuses to sign a new contract due to a complete lack of ambition, and similarly:
  10. Kane wants to leave to actually win the silverware he deserves whilst also having to deal with the inevitable fact that:
  11. Vinicius returns to Benfica leaving us in the strikingly familiar situation of needing a striker to back up Kane.

    The future is bright, innit?

Thanks Mo. I used to record and whizz through the golf and cricket but now just record all the football and fast forward it. Leaves me time to watch the hours of golf and cricket. So much ore exciting and enriching
