Overall, I'm happy with that transfer window. Not gonna shit the bed, not gonna spunk in it either - it was a 7/10. On a side note, I hope CCV has a good season at Celtic, and they choose to take the option of purchasing him. I don't think he's gonna make it at the club now. Sarr looks decent, from YouTube highlights, so I'm looking forward to keeping an eye on him this season and seeing what he can bring to the team in the following one.
Quiet night for the mrs then lol.

Who’s Salah or Mane’s backups and how do their returns compare to their’s? Yes I know they have Jota but he’s mainly been used as Firmino’s back up so far.

It’s almost like , they have players who can play in multiple positions!! Wow

The players we brought in all seem like they're good purchases.

And the out-goings are likewise sensible.

Age of the squad has been reduced, Son signed a new deal and Kane is staying for another season (plus we didn't get bullied into selling him).

Main negatives are that we're light in CM and we still don't have a back-up striker.

It's unlikely that we'll ever splash £250m, or whatever it would take, to instantly challenge for the CL places again. But if we chip away at rebuilding the squad over the next 2 transfer windows, bringing in 5 or 6 more players, then I think that's a fairly astute way of going about things.

Final point, the Traore deal was a bit of a strange one for me. ITK suggests that Levy, Hitchen, Paratici, Nuno, etc, were all discussing the pros and cons of a £50m deal. That would imply that there was £50m to spend on the right player, as long as they were worth it. If that's the case, why not spend that £50m on someone else, or perhaps another couple of up and coming youngsters? Europe's skint, so there's great value out there.

Good window, some people are overlooking the fact that Gil can play in a variety of attacking roles. I think he will be a great asset, who will provide actual assists.

Not sure if I agree that 45-50m for Traore is a gamble? You can argue that it's overpaying, but he's a proven prem player who would walk directly into our squad and improve it. I would say 30m for Ilaix Moriba is way more of a gamble, and 60m for Ndombele was a gamble.

I think we all agree at some point we need to address the striker situation. I am delighted with work paratici and Hitchen have done this summer. It’s only 4 months until window opens back up so I honestly feel our squad is fine and can be reevaluated in jan. Paratici never stops working and I am sure he will be working hard on future deals. He has already shown he does things differently

I don't think it's a gamble, because he's a known quanity, but is he worth that or is there better value elsewhere?

Can't say I understand the meltdown, it's been a middle of the road okay transfer window in my opinion. Happy with the players we've signed and let go but still some gaps in the squad.
That whole sentence doesn't make sense.

This summer a 'middle of the road, ok window' wasn't really the ticket was it?

If he can bring in 1 good player in January, I'd be happy (y)

That’s the way I see it. Of course there’s always a point where you have to say ‘not worth it’, but you’ll largely get your money back on that if you want to.

I could easily say in the face of actually talking about trying to finish top 4 that our squad is nowhere near good enough.

1. Lloris (I hate his kicking but he saves us points)
2. Emerson or Tanganga (definite upgrade) let's see how they do this season
3. Reguilon (solid upgrade) needs a good season
4. Romero (future star IMO) will hardly play for us this side of Xmas
5. Sanchez / Dier (not a fan of Dier but DS looks good) three years have shown not good enough, 3 games turns that around?
6. Hjobjerg (Great signing)
7. Skipp (developing into a top 6 player) early days, unproven
8. Alli (?he returns to form) meh not good enough
9. Son
10. Kane
11. Lucas (most improved player at the club) meh not good enough 1 goal every 10 games

then add

12. Gollini
13. Gill
14. Bergwijn meh not good enough, 1 goal in 20 games
15. Lo Celso meh really needs a big season
16. Scarlett unproven too young
17. Devine meh too young unproven
18. Ndombele doesn't want to be here meh
19. Winks oh god he's terrible
20. Sessengnon meh has shown little lets be honest
Honestly, why do you bother with Spurs at all?

Proven PL player that would walk into our squad? Like Doherty?

Moriba went for €15m.

I'm no BSoDL, but hasn't he been entirely hands off as far as we know, outside of not sanctioning 50 million pounds to buy Adama Traore, which almost all but the most hardcore Traore fans can at least admit is a bit of a stretch?

Yes. I think so too. But whether or not I agree with Levy isn't the issue.

So you are accusing Nuno of being a patsy, a man of little or no integrity happy to be fucked over by Levy based on what exactly?

Spurs play in the best league in the world and in one of the best stadiums in the world. We underachieve so any kind of success would be a huge celebration. It should be one of the most attractive jobs for a manager. How did we end up with Nuno whose style doesn't fit the criteria we set out with and who had been a free agent for 3 months?

I think it's widely agreed that we were looking for a "yes man".

Maybe another club is the one for you! We're far from perfect but have a fighting chance of top four. I absolutely believe it. A squad turnaround can't be done in one window but Fab has made a great start clearing out and bringing in young talent.
