Next round of the Champions league =££££££
Nothing compared to the group stages, which is what we risk losing out on next year. Plus the attractiveness to new signings. I think we have our priorities wrong here. We may need to rest players today purely because of workload, but claiming that he has to prioritise Tuesday smacks of Conte getting excuses in early, and I suspect the players will pick up on that, too. Why bust a gut when the boss has given up?

But, hey, he's a world class manager, so what do I know?

Bournemouth have the worst defensive record in the PL and have scored fewer goals than any team except for the bottom two.

If we don't win this I'll eat Freddie Starr's hamster.

Playing in the champions league group stages is not that attractive, there’s 32 teams that you could go to and do that. There’s upto 3 reasons higher on a players motivations imo.

Marseille is a much more important game and if the squad can’t do a job vs Bournemouth then it only emphasises Conte’s frustrations.

Take out the 9-0, 4-0 and 3-0 defeats in August and their goal difference compares much more favourably. And since Gary O'Neil took over they've improved further.

So I guess what i'm saying is whilst that stat is somewhat skewed, one would still hope we win this comfortably.

True, but the 9-0, 4-0 and 3-0 in august were against top 6 teams, they haven’t come up against one since so hopefully we can continue that trend.

Apart from their draw away to Newcastle. Yeah, we should be winning but they have definitely improved since O’Neil took charge. I just don’t see it being an easy game, or as certain as might be suggested by some simply by looking at their goal difference

We are currently in a bit of a hole, both performance and result wise, and nursing sore heads after being robbed of a crucial Champions League victory in the last seconds of yesterday's match. However, we have to acknowledge that had we played properly before that, the game could have been won and VAR would not be able to impact us so critically. The ramifications of failing to win that game are huge because now we need to go to Marseille and get a result to qualify, and before that we have to arrest a run of two successive Premier League defeats with a tricky trip to a Bournemouth team who have really kicked on since sacking Scott Parker following a 9-0 defeat at Anfield. A weakened team in France is now not an option and that means another slog for our overworked players. To that end Conte should consider freshening the team up and giving Bryan Gil a start after his electric cameo. Son resting to the bench for Lucas and coming on later might be an idea too. I expect Sess and maybe even Spence may come into play too. We have to go to Bournemouth and match their enthusiasm from the first minute and then I would expect our extra quality to hold sway. I expect three points. No excuses whatsoever, we must and will win this one. AFC Bournemouth 1 Tottenham Hotspur 2. COYS!

An ugly 1-0 win will do today. Get the 3 points and worry about the performance later.

I haven't seen anything from us for a short while to suggest that we 'should' be beating anyone if I'm honest. Would love to see a performance and result to match today.
