Ergh. Agin royal and sanchez on the right. Who in that midfield 3 will pass forward fast. Really needed Lucas or Gil out there. Sigh.

This just shows the limits of our squad to be honest. Sessegnon and Emerson at full back are not good enough, Sanchez having to come in, Davies playing aren’t good enough. A defensive trio in midfield isn’t the greatest.

We clearly need a lot of upgrades and I would like people to review this team and not blame Conte but take the realisation that we don’t have a good enough squad currently.

We played a game against these rascals a couple of years back (behind closed doors I think) which was the single most boring game I have ever seen. Hopefully a good result today but I can’t see it being a classic.

He has to rotate, it's not rocket science, the bigger game is on Tuesday and with injuries he has limited options.

Sure we are playing like Brazil in the 70’s

Have to hope we start the game with much better intensity and that Son in particular isn't busy barbecuing chance after chance.

Never a fan of the Royal/Sanchez axis but is what it is.

If we are looking for our bench for inspiration then we'll be in trouble you feel

As per Liverpool you don’t necessarily need creativity in central midfield but you do need quality up front, central defence and at full/wing back.

We’ve arguably enough in midfield and up top when everyone is fit but our wingbacks are nowhere near good enough and our central defence is poor. In a system that is reliant on a tight knit central defence and attacking wing backs the club seriously dropped a bollock by failing to significantly strengthen these two key areas.

I really don't think packing the midfield and being a stodgy team is the way to win this one. Conte has to reward players like gil who came on and had a spark of creativity and direct play, it's a shame but I hope he brings him on early enough...

He did, but he could have been rotating players before today to keep players fresher.

We know what normally happens when we make a lot of changes.
