This chapter of Spurs will be called the “Italian Job”. I see Clooney as the suave Fab / Caine role. I’m stumped for the Conte role tho.

Did you ever see Everyone Loves Raymond? If so, Robert's Italian girlfriend Stefania Fogagnolo - her intimidating and threatening father Marco - played by David Proval would be a great Conte.

I saw a report suggesting that intermediaries are being used in the Poro deal. I don't see why we cannot do the same with other deals, including those in Italy with Paratici 'advising' - assuming we believe his contacts and knowledge remain valuable and relevant.

I would assume even him advising would put them off.

Take him away from all activities for now until we know if he will get a 2 and a half year world wide ban.
But even then, if clubs don't want to deal with him we would be better just cutting ties and finding a new DOF

Assuming the ban isn't overturned (and extended to the UK), will Levy look to appoint a replacement quickly? Or will the number 2 just take over?

How is he still in a job. He should be suspended until appeal is heard at the very least - embarrasing

We're hardly strangers to standing by someone is having a tricky time in the legal department, remember Rosie47?

I'm sure we have just built up a team for Paratici, so I would guess his no.2 will step up.

But a new DOF might be a better option when dealing with other clubs

I think standing by somebody who is faced with a civil trial, in effect unrelated to football or being able to do their job, is totally different to someone that has been found guilty of a serious football related activity which will effect their ability to do their role.
Yes the appeals process needs to run its course, but in reality he should already be suspended pending internal investigation and lifting of the suspension.

I find it amazing that most think that Spurs are sitting around doing nothing. I personally would think that it’s very high up the agenda and that the club are doing exactly the right thing. The club may not be able to say anything yet, but I’m sure if they haven’t said anything it is for a very good reason.

All good and his position does appear untenable... but I wish further questions would have been asked about some of the activities at Manchester City around FFP. Investigations into those shenanigans seem to have fallen by the wayside.

Suspect he’s gone once the window closes. Probably too involved in deals this weak to risk binning him before the deadline. But if we now can’t deal with clubs because of him and the suspension is extended to the UK, his position is untenable.

Not sure it is because he is too involved in deals (as he wouldn’t be able to close Italian ones, and by all accounts not negotiating with Sporting, and I am sure others know status of deals or could be brought up to speed quickly). It could however be convenient to the club, and it’s spending policy to come out with “We couldn’t get preferred target because Roma were not allowed to deal with us, and we didn’t sack him because he was making an appeal, but we got Danjuma in on loan instead, and in many ways that it is the sensible acquisition in our position anyway, a 6 month loan deal

It’s football, people in it have zero morals and will do anything for money and deal with anyone.

I wouldn't ban him until this goes to appeal , he has still not been convicted of anything in a criminal court, if the Turin prosecutors office open a criminal case against him then that's different. BBC report below , could be more clubs involved.

In April 2022, 59 executives and 11 clubs, including Juventus were acquitted of all charges, the reasoning being that it is impossible to objectively determine the value of a player.

However, prosecutors in Turin's Public Prosecutor office initiated their own investigation (Prisma) and collected evidence which eventually led the FIGC to reopen the case. This process ultimately led to Juventus' punishment.

And I wouldn't fully trust Italian investigations and I am part Italian , all my Italian relatives are Juve supporters..

Harry Redknapp was tried at Southwark Crown Court which is a criminal court not a civil court, tax evasion is a criminal offence in the UK .

The question as to whether we should have suspended him comes down to how this could be impacting the last week of an important transfer window for us. I don't think we have an ethical obligation to suspend or fire an employee who is facing charges like this until all the appeal processes available to them have been exhausted.

However, if clubs are not going to be dealing with us if Paratici is still seen as being front and center of any negotiations, then we have a problem, and if publicly suspending him would help with that situation then we need to consider it.

Ultimately the greatest concern regarding Paratici is the fact that his network and influence is so tied to and limited to Italy. If his reputation is so tainted there that Italian clubs won't answer his calls, then his position at Spurs is untenable, and if we are honest, his career prospects moving forward are hanging by a thread
