Interesting.
My perspective having moved to the Uk in 1999 is that Spurs we're a complete mid table lightweight pushover club light years behind the dominant north london club Arsenal of 2004.

12 years later Enic had taken Spurs above Arsenal not only off the field but on it. That was a pretty amazing achievement given where both clubs were in 2004.

Im sorry none of that means anything to you but I hope you understand it does mean something to me and many other Spurs fans.

So again I'm just going to have to respectfully ask you for your vision of the future rather than the bitterness of your past.

I'm all for moving on past Levy and Enic - how can you show me you won't make us Everton?
If you mean bitterness towards Enic fair enough. I’ve gave you more time than I wanted to so getting off that roundabout. You continue to stick with Enic although interesting yours is a perception of the 90s whereas I supported through it, maybe that’s where the different perspectives come from…

Daniel Levy has done an incredible job as chairman of Spurs. I think he gets unfairly criticised a lot of the time by a minority of fans who have unrealistic expectations, and who just fire off silly opinions whenever they feel anger.

on this occasion, however, I think the criticism is justified. Levy has made a big mistake, and it’s damaged his reputation and the club’s. He has built a reputation for running Spurs as a slick business. But smooth businesses don’t keep directors on board running their affairs when they have found be found liable of fraud.

whether Paratici is guilty or not - and he may well be innocent - Levy is in no position to know. His duty is to protect the club, and in keeping Paratici on, he has failed to do that.

as the owner, he can’t go. But he has to admit to this error, take responsibility, and he should consider hiring a CEO to take over the day to day running of the club.

yet the last day of the transfer window remains the busiest by far - so its much the way most clubs work apart from the super rich - if your argument is that Spurs are one of the super rich then that's different but even for that last summer Spurs had tied up most of their business early and were widely including on here being heralded for that
Im talking about the Danjuma type deals.

Hoping for a 'good deal'

It's only for desperate clubs or transfers that have dragged and need to be concluded.

We still get the "The club will wait for good opportunities" in the build up to deadline day.

Do United, City, Arsenal or Liverpool behave like this??

Even Newcastle and Brighton are taking a much more proactive approach and dont bite on players that are offered.

There's a reason why

He's just playing with the fans, Levy. He buys top managers to please the fans into thinking that he's done good, gives the managers good salaries because he knows they wont last, plays with their feelings so they will revolt and make it untenable to keep them, then sack them and give them a compensation that will still be much less than if he were to buy the players they demand. Genius.

Until folks cut these ****s off were going nowhere..

protests mean nothing. Just don’t go. Support your local team.. watch spurs on tv for free. Fuck levy.

I’ve done it for 3 years…probably more if you factor in covid.

That's why I said Vivienne may try to do something.

Look, Lewis is very very old now, he will pass in the next few years. So that means she will step in and either she'll want out or she may want to make some significant changes.

@Trix has already stated he's seen her at games, which may mean she is actively getting involved.

The bad press for Levy will not help him
She runs the Tavistock Foundation, a non profit company and does not seem to be involved in anything more substantial within Joe Lewis business empire. Obviously that does not mean she has no influence with her dad.

People seem to forget that Joe Lewis also has a son, Charles, he is massively involved in everything his dad is involved in and a former director at ENIC. It's more likely to be him that takes over his dads empire since he is pretty much a chip of the old block, but who really knows what Joe Lewis intentions are.

It's fairly common knowledge she attends matches, I think she has a daughter and grandchild living in the UK, so probably watches when she visits the UK. If she does want Levy removed though, I very much doubt it's because of Love for the Club and more likely because her dads business is being affected.

If Lewis does decide to remove Daniel Levy from his position, I would not be surprised if our new Chairman is Daniel Levy son, Josh. He knows the Club well and is young with fresh ideas, and he is also on the board of directors at Tavistock and also their representative at Mitchell's And Butler.

I’m not wild about generations of levy’s running the club. If he had any real influence I doubt daddy would be in this holy mess we are in right now.

If he can actually learn from his dads mistakes though, that would be of benefit to the Club. Levy son has his own career to think about, his influence on his dad might be minimal but on Joe Lewis it could be different.

I think her biggest involvement might be President of Isleworth Country Club in FL, which is both a country club and very exclusive golf community - Tiger Woods lives there.

Your're probably right then. She must have taken over after she got divorced as her husband was president at one point.

People were. People also were excited about 2019’s summer, Mourinho being appointed, 2020 summer, 2022 summer. I know people will reply with “I wasn’t!” but the general narrative was optimistic.

businesses don't get judged on customers excitement so it's irrelevant . They get judged on results and levy's results on the footballing side are not good. Thankfully for him neither he or ENIC really care about that

Agreed but when the Levy debates enter Talksport he thinks purely from a business perspective and not from a football perspective.

He got accused of being his mate the other week and replied.. "There are things Daniel does I like, and things he does I don't like, but it's very clear there is no forward planning at Tottenham Hotspur"

Nothing will change while levy is there. We thought he learnt his lesson when mourinho was gone, but didn’t. I can’t imagine too many managers will want to come in and work with him either. He just irritates me in everything he does. He even eats with the coaching staff and players on all or nothing making stupid comments like saying how good winks is! He’s everything that is wrong with Tottenham Hotspur’s and has turned this club into the biggest laughing stock.
I don’t care how many people dislike this comment. You’re absolutely blind sided if you can’t see Levy is the problem.

It's an interesting point...I sometime wonder if the pro-Enic people are mostly those who started supporting in the mid/late 90s and the anti-Levy people are mostly older and younger fans who supporteed Pre 90's or post ENIC takeoever.

I started supporting around 95 and the childhood trauma of being surrounded by Man United fans remains strong....they really were some grim years before the ENIC takeoever.
