JN certainly has the pedigree but it just doesn't feel right to me. All the stuff from Bayern about the difficult personality etc sounds a bit familiar to our previous lot, even Poch at the end of his time here. Levy is probably panicking after yesterday's shitshow and thinks he needs a big name again to get everyone back on side. JN may at least arouse interest from some decent players this summer which is just as well because there is literally nothing else attractive about us right now.

This narrative was put out by the Board to justify sacking a manager whilst still on for the treble. JN heard it from twitter just like us, not even face to face.

Bayern are now worse off in the league and out of both cups.

Most of the players didn't like the fact Kahn and Salihamidžić mentioned that Nagelsmann had the dressing room against him as one of the reasons for his dismissal. The players believe they were made into scapegoats instead of the bosses clearly and honestly taking responsibility for sacking Nagelsmann.

The bosses thought the change of coach would give new impetus and ‘liberate’ the players, but that was a clear misjudgment.

Speaking to TZ, Kimmich said, "We won only 5 games out of 10. But I can say that he didn’t lose the dressing room. I’ve already been through a few coaching changes – there was nothing to indicate internally that he lost the dressing room or that players are unhappy. We all were surprised."

“I can only say that Julian Nagelsmann is an outstanding coach. He’s easily in my top 3 best coaches,” Kimmich bluntly responded when asked for a remark on Nagelsmann’s sacking (via @iMiaSanMia).

Of course, Kimmich has already played under a bevvy of top class managers in Pep Guardiola, Carlo Ancelotti, Jupp Heynckes, Joachim Low and Hansi Flick before playing under Nagelsmann.

"No, I didn't see it coming and I was surprised. We're second in the league, in the quarter-finals of the cup and in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Everything's still in there," the Netherlands international told NOS. "Those in charge decide who the coach is, but it was a tough pill to swallow. But I also believe that Tuchel is a coach who suits us."

De Ligt also played down talk of a dressing room riftand says he enjoyed a good relationship with Nagelsmann at Bayern.

"Ah, the German media – that says enough. I had a good relationship with the coach and his staff, so it was difficult for me," he added. "I got in touch with him, sent him a message and thanked him for everything he taught me. He really wanted me at the club and was important to me. Thanks to him, I've taken important steps in my development over the past few months."

In what way, I would say most stories have been about one or the other?
Since spurs leaked that nagelsmann isn't a target, everyone has said slot leading with Enrique and amorim considered. Only Duncan castles mentioned nagelsmann again and he just makes shit up.

Edit, replied to wrong post but point stands

I wouldn't be surprised if Bayern go grovelling back to JN given that Tuchel hasnt exactly been a success and may well lose the Bundesliga. Ive seen more surprising things happen.

Think Bayern are too big and proud a club to do that. They'd rather suffer than so publicly admit they fucked up IMO.

The Bayern board have come out and said Tuchel will get pre-season whatever happens.

But by and large Slot has been the primary target linked with the others you mention on a shortlist

My bad but they seem to have fucked up with Tuchel and JN is still on their payroll. I think Kahn and the other guy made the decision and well... wasnt clever so who knows what would happen with them - can see them being let go because of that. Anyways was just my thinking

It doesn’t but can you explain your logic to this when everything points to the exact opposite of what your saying
The words of the Feyenoord Director and Slot saying “if my next step is in the Netherlands then I will have failed in the next few years” in regards to his next step..”next few years”.

we heard the same noise about Nagelsmann that we’re hearing now about slot.

And by the way, I’m DESPERATE for it to be one of those two..

You don’t send out a brief literally a week ago to a whatsapp group full of journalists that you’re not interested in someone to then change your mind days later. Get real.

I just hope we have made our decision already and as soon as the season ends we move swiftly and appoint the new manager.

Give home time to sit down, start assessing the squad and identify new players so we can get them in quickly.

What we need is everyone in place for pre-season so our new manager has the opportunity to get his ideas across.

What we dont need is this nonsense of waiting til the last week of the transfer window to see who is left avaialble at a knock down price.

However, this is Spurs and Levy so I wont hold my breathe.
