I don't, but I think there are many factors at play here.

He's just won the treble and has had success at other lesser levels.
He appears to be a good coach and man manager wherever he has been.
He plays front foot entertaining football.
He's charismatic which will help with the press.
He won't have crazy player demands.
The fans will like him as long as he gets results.
He is known by Munn.
He is represented by Caa Base.

Now you can shuffle these around into whatever order you like but I would bet you a kidney that every single point above contributed to him being appointed if/when it happens.

Oh i'm sure all those factors have been taken into consideration. Especially his charisma and general positive outlook, that is desperately needed to bring some unity back to the club.

I think many supporters are overlooking that the club would have sought the opinions of various tactical analysts, coaches and other people in the game, as part of the due diligence process. I really doubt with such a risky appointment it was just done at a whim because he won some trophies in Scotland and is mates with a fellow Aussie at the club.

For sure but these are the the kind of risks you weigh up in a lot of careers. Would obviously never criticise someone for putting their family first by taking guaranteed higher income and not uprooting your family instead of a riskier move abroad with a potential higher reward and better career progression.
Yeah, and I guess the fact he literally came to Oz on a boat from Greece with nothing means that financial security might be important to him.

The hiring of Nuno does give them form for doing just that though so you can understand why people would be sceptical.

Don't want to sound too cynical, but no matter who we hire as manager is still going to be left cleaning up after the previous years of random recruitment. Can't see Levy allowing any new boss a complete clean slate due to all the average players under contract on high wages. Getting rid will be the job of a DoF but we still don't have that, so what can any new manager really achieve in the short term? I know we've brought in some good players in previous years, but we've still got the baggage.

I believe Postecoglou turned down Brighton's offer last year, and they seem to have the Midas touch at the moment. Reassuring to know he was considered.

I'd be happy if Ange is the man, but reports of a two year deal with a options makes me worried that the club aren't very convinced with him and won't give him the backing he'll need to rebuild the team.

I'm feeling quite positive and excited about the whole thing. Completely new broom, club reset and pretty low expectations - hopefully will make the stadium a happier place next season.

Biggest problem Ange will face is the fans. Especially if Chelsea are flying with Poch at the helm.

I'm intrigued to see what he can do.
True, but it would be daft to compare our situation with Chelsea. They should be much better than they are whereas we are on a slow decline only offset by Kane's brilliance. The 2 squads and the available finances are simply not comparable .

That seems quite sensible to me given his lack of experience. We'd probably be saying similar things in terms of not being satisfied if he were to get locked in on a five year deal.

I do worry about this appointment. even Gerrard managed to walk the Scottish league but got found out in the PL. I wish Ange the best of luck if he’s to be the one levy goes with. I just can’t help but wonder why we are over looking managers like Nagalsmann and Enrique who will have more pulling power when it comes to top quality players.
Because Luis Enrique has been tripe outside checkbook job?

I think ultimately this will be a good hire. It may be a bit like Poch though - where it will take a year to get some of the older legs out of the club, and younger, more energetic, players in.

Not having Europe will be a blessing in disguise, albeit it will force some creativity in the transfer market.

Yeah and this makes me happier with it than I would be otherwise. Trust their selection process over ours

Seeing managerial merry-go-rounds, not just with Spurs but on football generally, bit shorter deals ought to be more of an standard.
