''ALL ANGE APPROVED'' that's all i need to hear. My pathetically inadequate football knowledge didn't like what it saw of Jonathan David at the WC but if Ange likes him, i'm on board.
I'm not overly keen from what I've seen of him either. I will concede though that he is the profile I think we need. Quick, good feet in tight area's, works hard and is used to playing in a possession based side against low blocks. That said I just don't think he's the quality of player worth the money being banded around in the media.

Jonathan David the Canadian? Once upon a time was a LB/LWB? former Bayern player?

I wanted him here years ago as a LWB, no clue what he's like now.

I’m confused by the ITK
It said a winger is priority but we’ve bid for Jonathan David who is a striker 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not sat and watched him play for 90 minutes so bit of an unknown quantity for me.

Always have a ? Over players from Ligue 1. Definitely feel we have more pressing priorities so hope it’s just that this deal is advancing faster but alongside others rather than being prioritised over others

I don't think Johnson is 3 on the winger list anyway.

Doku and Williams being 1 and 2 proves we are using data profiling which will rule out Johnson as number 3. It will be someone who profiles similarly to Doku and Williams.
Could be Fati, we’ve had ITK we are interested in him. Johnson is an easy choice as the link is in the press. Could be ether.

we have to shift atleast 9 out to bring in 3. So as of now I would be surprised if we bring 1 in. We really have to clear out soon for any hope of a winger & striker in this summer

You're thinking of Alphonso Davies. The best LB/LWB in the world at the moment. Though David is also Canadian. Good striker who scores goals. Would be a decent signing. Though would hope a hefty bid wouldnt preclude us from going after Toney in January if need be.

Might want to watch the recent Toney interview. After that - no thanks.

ITK has indicated Toney should be avoided like the plague.

Splash big money on David would be crazy if Richy is still here. Rather see us going big for Douglas Luiz and a proper 3rd CB.
Luiz? To take which of our man of the match joint winners positions away from them?

We desperately need proper competition and rotation for Richarlison - link with David is exciting as didn't think he would be on our radar but is a good middle ground option between Orban and Vlahovic - so good to see some ITK on this.

Hmm lots of poaching in his youtube highlights (he won't get that kind of space in front of goal in the prem) and the rest of the highlights don't look amazing. I assume Richi's highlights reel is more impressive.

Not if it only features him at Spurs...

I’d have serious concerns about him being another Pepe. Idk, I just have this feeling he will struggle in the pl and obviously his goal stats are significantly padded by pens.

I mean he plays in a stronger league than Orban does and the same one Muani did before last summer, so I don't think he can be judged purely off a weak league.

I think he's widely rated as one of the top 20 STs in the word right now and given that at least 17 of the others are out of our reach then he's a good option to go for if he has the attributes that Ange is happy with.

Poaching is exactly the reason David is better- he knows where to be in box and score. For Ange we need a striker who presses well which David offers too + we need that striker to be in box to score with little or no time on ball . Kyogo Celtic was similar too David in this aspect .

Data wise David is the 2nd best striker we have been linked with behind Muani . He does lack aerially and we won’t be launching too much into him anyway
