Rumours of Sanchez going to Turkey...

Madness if this happens and we don’t have a competent replacement. How can Ange support such a move? What happens if Romero or VDV is suspended or injured? Who comes in then? Incredible…
Are there any free agents out there we've overlooked? Certainly seems mad.

Rumours out of Turkey are rarely correct. Think of it logically and there’s no way he goes now.

The structure won’t matter if Levy is at the Helm! He’ll just meddle and overrule where he see’s fit instead of giving the DOF a budget and letting them get on with things.

Not sure how you can have disagrees on this, it’s what’s happened every time!

Rumours of Sanchez going to Turkey...

I wonder how some will justify that if it happens!
It would be madness but would anyone be surprised if we (Levy) left Ange with Romero, VDV, Phillips and Dorringtin until January to add a few million to the bank? I can’t say I would be.

Normally yes. In Sanchez' case not quite as he tends to cost us when he does play. So sell, and start work on a January CB-transfer straight away.
That leaves Dier to come in who would cost us way more points in this system.

Just wait till January when we can replace him.

Rumours about Turkey are bound to circulate simply because their window is still open, nothing more than that I don't reckon.

Sergio Ramos

Obviously it makes no sense to sell Sanchez to Turkey now. He's the only experienced viable backup who fits the system. That said, we can all imagine cashing in for 5 or 10 mil plus another 3m of wages saved, as he'll be out of contract next summer.

Dier is much maligned but a solid pro and a good player, just not in this type of system.

Interesting that Phillips was on the bench at Burnley. He would be 3rd choice, it seems, if Dav does go.

Yeah I reckon Phillips will be worked into the side as the season goes on, he's obviously training with the first team so I don't doubt Postecoglu sees a place for him.

I love how the narrative has changed from "Sanchez is not a good enough back up" to "How will we survive without an adequate back up if Sanchez leaves".
If Ange is satisfied with Phillips and Dorrington then I don't see why we shouldn't be

You obviously have much more inside info than me, but I dunno - Dier doesn't strike me as the Saudi money hungry type.
Haha, nothing to do with info, just that I think given the lack of options, right now it seems the most likely. I might be well wide of the mark. He might be happy to wait until January, or whenever.

Do we have anything to suggest he sees them as ready this season?

For a long time on this site there have been fans that think if a player isn’t good enough then a youngster will do.

No Prem seems to operate in this way by just throwing youngsters in. Imagine if Romero got injured and Phillips was forced to play despite being nowhere near ready for this level.

It’d be carnage.

He had Phillips on the bench yesterday. Can only read so much into that, but clearly is considered a part of the first team squad. Dorrington is an outstanding prospect, and we really ought to be looking to try and integrate both of them. We're far too slow to involve our top youth products.
