The ref was a disgrace to be fair. He should have helped organize their defence for our first goal and should have shouted for Matip to let it go for the second.
Agreed. Additionally, he should have disallowed our winning goal, since Matip was 'OFFSIDE'.

I'll tell you what's caused most of this uproar about the red card.. Gary Neville.

Well Gary Neville + thick fans that do not understand the actual laws of the game.

Gary Neville going on and on and on about how the foul was "unintentional" so shouldn't be a red is what has caused most of this, because thick fans will take commentators words as gospel. I guarantee you had Neville said "He hasn't meant it but it's reckless and dangerous." There'd be half the people complaining about it.

There's still a shockingly high amount of people that believe all lines must be drawn from BOTH players shoulders just because they saw it happen once in a game. Not realising it's just the furthest point of the body in which a goal can be scored/defended up to the the sleeve of the shirt for arms.

I mean i'm not sure why i'm so shocked "thick" and "Liverpool fans" don't naturally go hand in hand but there we go.
Exactly. If you listen to the Peter Drury commentary a few pages back, I’ll bet my mortgage he wouldn’t have said the same thing if he was working for Sky yesterday. Because Neville kept going on like a dick about the red card etc, the story would’ve just been about how Liverpool were robbed. Neville and Carragher (who I don’t actually mind) have too much power over there and their words often stick. I’m certain the nice poetic piece at the end there wouldn’t have happened if he had Neville next to him.

Liverpool Football Club acknowledges PGMOL’s admission of their failures last night. It is clear that the correct application of the laws of the game did not occur, resulting in sporting integrity being undermined.

We fully accept the pressures that match officials work under but these pressures are supposed to be alleviated, not exacerbated, by the existence and implementation of VAR.
It is therefore unsatisfactory that sufficient time was not afforded to allow the correct decision to be made and that there was no subsequent intervention.
That such failings have already been categorised as “significant human error” is also unacceptable. Any and all outcomes should be established only by the review and with full transparency.
This is vital for the reliability of future decision-making as it applies to all clubs with learnings being used to make improvements to processes in order to ensure this kind of situation cannot occur again.

"Liverpool Football Club acknowledges PGMOL’s admission of their failures last night......
In the meantime, we will explore the range of options available, given the clear need for escalation and resolution."
Well, that'll take them about 5 seconds because there are no "options available."

They have the only option every other club has of sucking it up.

It's not nice and I understand their displeasure at having to do it for the first time in what must be a long while but eh.

They're dangerous mate. The way the club and fans are carrying on is an absolute disgrace. You had a decision go against you get the fuck over it we've had 3 or 4 of these go against us this season.

When Neville and Carragher both started on sky sports they were a breath of fresh air, more so Neville actually, he was very unbiased and just said what he saw, again, at the time was a breath of fresh air, these days, he's really negative all round, he was criticizing us recently about us playing out from the back, a few times actually in different games, rather than appreciating we are transitioning with a new manager and trying to be brave he just straight up shits on us and basically calls us idiots and naive for even to dare try it.

Carragher, despite his few wtf moments and Liverpool Bias actually seems to have a decent understanding of football and usually comes across pretty well.
