I was hoping Max got up, obviously!Norrie recovered from two sets down to beat Zeppieri and get into R3.
He'll face Casper Ruud who also needed five sets against Aussie hope Max Purcell.
Sorry Brits, but I'm supporting Ruud here.
Lol.
Awesome.
I don't understand why they decided to start the Medvedev match at 11:30, surely it would make more sense to move it to the next day.Would love to discuss more tennis but people on here seem to prefer discussing the weather or posting wordle pics.
Should we who watch it try to get it going a bit more during the aus open?
Has been a great start to this grand slam IMO, with most favourites losing sets and there has been loads of 5th set tiebreak deciders.
You can argue that it’s messed up that the are still playing at 03.15 local time but it’s good entertainment for a European viewer!

Love the different challenges in each slam, I always see the Aus open as a test of endurance in extreme heat big hitting and great shot making.I have a theory that in the Oz Open the bounce is really true and a nice speed and it encourages big hitting - thinking maybe especially on the men's side here - by guys with not as much to lose as their higher ranked opponents. Teeing off on everything can "often" work for a set or two until the pressure comes on with the apparent opportunity of actually winning the match when everything tightens up and the purple patch fades.
Saw it up to end of the 3rd set then had to head out but looked like Rublev had the bigger weapons but De Minaur was fighting away well with the crowd behind him.Helluva match. 6-0 in the fifth for Rublev but he was close to cramping at the end and right up to the last point there was still some doubt.
De Minaur is incredibly quick around the court.

Was there an injury or a big tactical change to turn it around to a 6-0 in the decider?
Fallen apart in the tie breaker. Some great play by Norrie so far taking it to a final set 10pt breaker.
