Pau Cubarsí is only 17 and has already played 3 CL games for Barca...
Barca have had various players injuried at different times in CM and DM, which means they have been playing Christensen in DM and Balde has been out for a few months, meaning Kounde has had to move to RB (as Cancelo has moved to LB). They have conceded 7 goals in those 3 CL games which is equal to the previous 7 games in the CL.

I think as well as injuries (and financial issues meaning their squad can't be as big as in previous years), Barca have the perfect storm of producing top quality players, that get to play for a B team that plays in the third tier (occasionally second tier) Spanish professional league, as well as La Liga itself being a much less physical league than the PL.

Also worth noting that the prestige of playing for Barca, means that hey can hang on to the most of their young players, where as in the PL, you have teams like City swooping in, paying ridiculous wages to youngsters to get the top talent.

Wish Football.London would use some expression other than "wonderkid" , so many of the previous ones never made it to the 1st team squad.

And maybe it's as simple as our kids aren't as good. We know our academy has had some poor years where it hasn't delivered well at all, and we know changes have been and are being made, but it takes years before we can harvest the fruits of those changes and even then there's no guarantee that the kids we have are talented enough.

Wonderkids who play at the highest level at 16, 17, 18 are rare, and those who do make it that early create a narrative (which is not their fault) that every academy should have a handful of wonderkids that good when that's simply not the case. That Barcelona have three or four of them at once now is insane.
Think it's not been helped by the press labelling plenty of prospects as wonderkids and people applying Football Manager rules to real life, probably FIFA too. It's just a game mechanism.

U21s 1-0 up. Lankshear.

Donley lifts a ball to the back post, Soonsup-Bell hits it first time and Lankshear is there to tap the ball home from three yards out.

U21s 2-2. Donley.

Santiago is played through, keeper runs out and goes through him winning the ball, which falls to I think Kyerematen, who lays the ball to Donley on the edge of the area and chips the ball over the defenders knowing the keeper is off his line and scores. Brilliant goal.

What a goal by Donley a couple of minutes after he hit the post. Played a lovely through ball over the top to Santiago who just got the ball pinched off him by the keeper, Donley lofts over the keeper and defenders into an empty net

Both bits of play in that second were Hoddle esque by Donley. Brilliant goal.

Google said the u18 game was suspended for a short period of time, this appeared to be around the time Palace got a man sent off so sounds like it all kicked off if the game was temporarily suspended.
