I am quite happy for us to use the window to clear the decks.

If we can add a quality CB then great.

Leopard doesn’t change his spots, I think we will spend very little.
It's not about how much is spent, but what it is spent on. The actual total at the end doesn't bother me, I just want players Ange agrees to and think will strengthen the group.

Outside of Lloris and Dier, who is realistically going to be out? Hojbjerg is playing a regular part and with AFCON we'll need him to start matches.

I may be the eternal optimist but it is clear for all to see drop in quality (especially CB) if injuries kick in and I dont think Danny will let it slide like he did the last time.
I think Ange's straight-talking yet also realism to the resources we have will help us get as much as we can in January, it'll likely depend if we can shift Dier etc if we can bring in a new CB.

For me if we want to be in the title race seriously then we'd need minimum a CB and a midfielder added to the squad.

There's a real opportunity to add a 1 vs 1 speedy LW in Jan - plus a CB for cover.

If we do that, and stay (relatively) injury free - free should finish top 4, if not higher

There's no almost about it. All bar one team who've started the season this well has made the Top 4. There's the added cushion of 5th probably being enough this year anyway. And a 9 point gap down to 6th is very, very significant. It would be a shock and a significant dissapointment if we didn't make it from here.
The league is so strange at this stage of the season though.
  • Finished our last game 5 points clear at the top of the league
  • Start of our next game we will probably be in 4th place o_O

It's all about staying in the mix by March when we'll have to put on our big boy pants and shown the rest of the league what we're made of

Will Levy though? history says he won’t. We have a good side but depth to finish first I don’t think so.

Will we strengthen? I don’t think that’s a given at all, when we are doing well history tells us Levy likes to spend little or keep the pennies closed.

Leopard doesn’t change his spots, I think we will spend very little.

Huge opportunity tomorrow, with 3 or 4 of our rivals for top four dropping points we need to hammer home that advantage.

Really hope we can get an early goal or two tomorrow or at the very least don’t concede first. Massive, massive opportunity to build some distance to at least see us through a tricky run of upcoming fixtures

The four teams directly below us all dropped points.

Arsenal lose
Liverpool draw
Brighton draw
Villa lose

So far so good, just need to do the business ourselves tomorrow and it will be a very good weekend.

Turns out our "easy" fixtures against Bournemouth (A), Luton (A) and Fulham (H) are only easy if you win them.

Just ask Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.

This will play havoc with all of the theories about our 'easy' start.
