Huge opportunity tomorrow, with 3 or 4 of our rivals for top four dropping points we need to hammer home that advantage.
Great opportunity to prove we are not "spursy" anymore and prove the media wrong and that clown Merson wrong again. COYS

The league is so strange at this stage of the season though.
  • Finished our last game 5 points clear at the top of the league
  • Start of our next game we will probably be in 4th place o_O

It's all about staying in the mix by March when we'll have to put on our big boy pants and shown the rest of the league what we're made of
I've noticed that we have this weird scheduling a few times before Xmas.

Last time out it was Fulham as the last game of the week then Palace as the first game of the following week. This time it is Chelsea as the last game, then Wolves as the first game of next week. And then we play Newcastle on 10 Dec (last game on the Sunday) followed by Forrest on Friday as the first game of that week.

I'm not sure if that's a consequence of us being flexible without mid-week fixtures, or that the success so far with Ange makes us more worthy of being forced into the TV slots. But I bet it's a pain in the arse.

I’m leaning towards the latter but it means we’re kind of excluded from the main football media narrative for a couple of weeks as we’re not on MOTD and most ‘pod’ shows don’t really talk about the Fri/Mon games other than a ‘oh and this happened’ kind of vibe

It is bloody feast and famine for our fans. Two games in quick succession followed by waiting an eternity to play again!
On the same theme it is incredible that by the end of the year 16 of our first 20 PL games will have been televised on Sky, TNT or Amazon Prime, meaning that we have just two non-live games left until the end of 2023- home to Everton and home to Bournemouth. The only other non-televised games so far were Burnley and Sheffield United. I have never known us be such Box Office. It just has to be the Ange effect.

Today is a big day from a season point of view.

So, will be 10Dec , Spurs vs Newcastle.

Newcastle injury list now growing bigger & bigger. Dan Burn out for 2 months. Matt Target is out for 3 months. Jacob Murphy out for 3 months. Plus they already lost Barnes, Elliot Anderson to long term injuries + Tonali suspended.
Isak & Botman possibly fit by our fixture.

Between now & our fixture, they face Dortmund, Bournemouth, Chelsea, PSG, United, Everton.

Overall, it looks like we will face a weakened Newcastle, which can only be good.

And now goes our ‘title’ challenge, it’ll be a loss with 10 men tonight and Romero out for 3 games and Van Der Ven and Maddison LT injured.

That was painful. I’d rather be kicked 5 times in the nuts to have not endured that and for the team to have finished with no injuries and all 11.

a lot of season left though and top 4 is still to play for

FUCKED .
Race for title becomes Race for Europe now

With Davies & Dier, we CANNOT SHOULD NOT play back4.

IMO, only way out now is back3. Ange has played it in past.

vs Wolves

Vicario
Phillips/Dorrington Dier Davies
Porro Biss Sarr Emerson
Kulu Son Johnson

And after Wolves , when Udogie back
Vicario
Emerson Dier Davies
Porro Biss Sarr Udogie
Kulu Son Johnson

If we go back 4 with Dier Davies, then we are in for 4-3, 5-4, 5-0, 0-5,0-7, 4-5,3-4 whatnot

Unfortunately can’t see us picking up more than maybe one draw in the next three games. Back four is gonna be a horror show.

I honestly thought we'd struggle early on before settling and getting stronger as the season progressed. Looks like we might have a slight iffy patch coming up (maybe not, who knows) but if we do it'll be after a near perfect start.

Top 6 is what I hoped for at the start. I still think top4/5 is within our capability.

I worked out the other day that of our then-28 remaining games we needed to win half of them. That plus a few draws would give us over 70 points, which is top 4 in most of the recent seasons.

I think 14 wins should still be achievable.
