We have an injury and suspension crisis but we are only 4 points off the top at Xmas. If we can win our next 2 and get some of our injured players back then anything is possible. Our fanbase needs to keep positive and keep our stadium rocking.

4 points from top at Xmas happy with that. Would have snapped your hand off for that before the season started
Came to post exactly this.

4 points off the top after our squad was decimated after the first 10 games is incredible.

This feels like a pretty transformative game week for us with Newcastle and Manchester United losing and Brighton dropping points. From free-falling towards those sorts of teams we're now well clear again. Just got to hold it together away to Brighton and then Bournemouth at home and we'll be right in there when the injured players start coming back.
Many were worried about United and Newcastle catching us or overtaking us but I always believed it would balance out again.

United had a very very easy run of games that they barely scraped by. They got tough games again and started dropping points again.

I always felt Newcastle would tire. Thye really don't have depth or quality for 2 games per week.

Whereas we just needed a kinda set of fixtures (Wolves, Villa, City, WH with players missing was always going to be a big ask) and some players back which was a guarantee.

Even if we drop points over January I expect us to get ahead of them again when players return and they'll contnue dropping points too.

Makes it even more bizarre when people complain about today's performance or Ange.

He has done exceptionally well to get us here.
I have no idea about internal expectations but I'd bet we're well ahead of schedule.

4 pts off top after last month's near blank and still with injury issues. I'll take it.

If only Romero & Bissouma didnt lose their heads...we would be leading the PL table comfortably.
They got to learn their lessons soon...

Brighton and Bournemouth to come, and no chickens being counted, but it's not ridiculous to suggest that we finish the year with 5 wins on the spin with a completely gutted squad.

FWIW - Mitoma got injured and will now miss our game on 28th.
Brighton squad is already full of injuries.

Hopefully Romero injury isnt severe and come back next game. If he starts IMO, we should be fine to win against a depleted Brighton squad

Whatever happens from now till Feb , I am convinced that , we will finish the season very strong
IMO, where we finish end of season comes down to results we get from now till Feb 2nd week with injuries, suspensions & AFCON/Asia cup.
